I haven't tried any other golf GPS other then this unit. It does the job for me. Nice feature it has also is the fact you can keep track of all your round information (club averages, fairways hit, putts) and when you are off the course you can plug it into a computer and read all your score...

Having used this gps for a few games now I find it very accurate and well woth the money.

I purchased the Garmin G3 for only two reasons. The price and lack of subscription. I got more than I paid for. The features of the G3 definitely give the average golfer the best bang for his (or her) buck. I read many reviews on many different GPS systems.

likely saves me 3 shots a round, and that equals breaking 80 regularly. its always awsome on a new course or any blind shots. ps it makes you learn all your clubs true.distances, so all you have to do is hit the blanking thing right.....

Anyone who knows me well knows that my technology prowess is often questionable at best. My phone is far from smart. When practicing my bass, more often than not it will be along with a CD in a Boom box, rather than along with an iPod.

If you can't get batteries cheap; it might be a pain

First off let me say my Best Buy was great in price matching a very good price a local retailer had put on this unit. I've owned 2 skycaddies which were good products, can't knock them. A Calaway MX Upro which I just returned under Callaway's factory return/recall program.

Great value has a lot of courses. I checked it with other GPS on vacation this week and it was close to what the cart GPS was with in a yard. You have to change the batteries after 4 rounds so carry extra or buy the rechargeable ones.
