Fujifilm X-T30 review

Fujifilm has got plenty right here: a tough body, sound AF performance, great image quality straight out of the camera and lovely 4K videos, and all for a very reasonable price. We have some reservations around operation and the electronic viewfinder, but there's far more here to love than to be...

Great build quality; Superb value for money; Plenty of customization options; Excellent 4K video quality; Lovely default JPEG output; Speedy AF system

0.62x EVF magnification; Grip not ideal for larger lenses; Some controls can be fiddly; No sensor-based stabilization; Tripod thread awkwardly placed; No UHS-II support

Fujifilm X-T30: the best sub-£1000 camera

Its charming, compact design, excellent autofocus and superb range of lenses make it an ideal everyday camera for most shooting situations, from action to travel photography. Despite being the little brother of the excellent Fujifilm X-T3, the X-T30 packs much of the same power into a smaller body.

Excellent photo and video quality; Fast and reliable autofocus; Impressive burst-shooting power; Great-looking camera that's fun to use; Superb range of prime lenses available

No weather-sealing; No built-in image stabilisation; A couple of handling frustrations

Fujifilm X-T30 Review

The Fujifilm X-T30 is a new mid-range mirrorless camera that's smaller, lighter and a lot cheaper than the flagship X-T3 model, yet in some ways is actually slightly more advanced than the X-T3.

Fujifilm X-T30: Everything you need in a travel CSC

As we generally find to be the case with Fujifilm offerings, there's a lot to like about the X-T30 and hardly anything to dislike. It's a superb camera that distils many of the best elements of the X-T3 into a smaller, lighter and cheaper camera.

Gorgeous; retro body; Tilting; touch-sensitive screen; 4K video

Single card slot; Limited buffer for action; Irritating Q button placement

Very powerful camera in a small body

The X-T30 is a joy to use, user friendly manual settings. Small size makes it ideal as a travel camera - it's an an excellent camera in all respects, the auto focus has been improved, the joy stick is much better than the controls on the X - T20 - , there is only one niggle, which is the Q button...

Fujifilm X-T30 review

The X-T30 has a couple of handling quirks that are practically inevitable in a camera this small, and it has no in-body stabilisation, but these are the only faults we can find in a camera with superb external controls, a great 26.1-megapixel sensor, superb autofocus and powerful 4K video recording...

Excellent image quality; Powerful and effective autofocus; Traditional exposure controls; Small size

No in-body stabilisation; Placement of Q button

Fujifilm X-T30

Fujifilm managed to produce yet another winner with the X-T30. This compact mirrorless digital camera delivers a performance way above its price by combining superb image-quality and class-leading speed with a rich feature-set and plenty of direct controls.

Excellent retention of details and sharpness; Class-leading dynamic range; Natural image colors; Good Automatic WB; Sensitive and accurate autofocus; Very fast AF system; No EVF blackout; Plenty of direct controls; Instant video response; Excellent build quality

Image noise slightly higher than competition; Tendency to blow small highlights; Not Exposure-Priority; Shallow image buffer; Excessive feature interactions; Minimal hand-grip; Short battery-life; Soft aperture detents With all current XF-mount lenses

Fujifilm X-T30 Review

The Fujifilm X-T30 is Fujifilm's mid-level APS-C mirrorless camera with an electronic viewfinder (EVF). The X-T30 features the same 26mp BSI CMOS sensor as the X-T3 , and is an update to the X-T20 , which is Fujifilm's best selling X series camera, striking a balance between high-performance, and...

Same 26mp sensor as X-T3; Excellent image quality; High-speed continuous shooting; Rapid focus; and numerous options; CINE 4K video recording; Price

Easy to accidentally press the Q button; Short video recording times

Fujifilm X-T30

Users find this camera to be the best all-purpose camera under $1000 right now. The X-T30's still image quality, video quality, ease of use, and good portability all add up to a stellar package. Another best feature is its ability to use antique manual focus lenses.

Exceptional 4K video; Exceptional image quality; Traditional exposure controls; 100% phase detect AF coverage; Powerful and efficient autofocus

Lacks image stabilization as well as weather sealing; Grip is not ideal for larger lenses and photographers with larger hands; Rear touchscreen-only tilts up and down; unlike the X-T3 which also tilts to the right as well
