There's a lot to be said for form as well as function and there's no question the Fujifilm X-series cameras elicit a certain response from those of us who enjoy both photography and well-built gadgets.
Pros:
  • Unique camera design makes you want to take pictures
  • Excellent JPEGs
  • little need to shoot raw most of the time
  • Reliable metering and AWB systems
  • good color (with choice of 'film modes'
  • Dials for exposure controls allow for easy check of settings by glancing at the top deck
  • particularly with...
Cons:
  • Built-in level isn't always as accurate as we'd like
  • Relatively slow AF makes photographing children more difficult
  • Framerates in continuous shooting mode aren't completely consistent
  • Camera disables RAW shooting without warning in some bracketing modes
  • Relatively low-resolution rear LCD...

Fujifilm X-E1

The X-E1 is one hell of a camera, leaving a few quirks aside. It is a mirrorless that can actually function as a substitute to the bulky DSLR for many users. If you're in the market for a DSLR, or want a camera system that will give you great images, then you might want to look at getting the X-E1.
Pros:
  • Compact body compared to a DSLR
  • Excellent image quality even at high ISO
  • Well-placed dials that make accessing settings really quick
Cons:
  • AF is a hit or miss at times
  • Lack of any sort of controls in video recording mode

Great Camera

Great camera for usability and quality of images. Downsides are the slow focus and video performance, but this is really a photographers camera. I really like the quick exposure compensation dial and viewfinder. More lens selection would be nice.

The Best Camera I've Ever Owned

I bought an X100 a couple of years ago and my wife simply adores that camera. Her only complaint: no zoom. And by only, I mean Only. In all other ways the X100 is amazing.
Pros:
  • Automatic mode is incredible
  • Picture quality is stunning
  • Picture depth is amazing
  • Built in panoramic function
  • Build quality is superb
Cons:
  • No minimum shutter speed setting for auto
  • "Format Card" buried too deep in the menus

Must use it to appreciate it.

First I was not sure about how it would look on the beautiful camera. But it will be totally in my palm and can't really see when I hold up the camera. Without this grip, camera may be too small to hold with one hand without the grip. It is a must for me, coming from DSLR.
Pros:
  • Very Solid
Cons:
  • None

Just what I was looking for

I bought this camera looking for a lighter alternative to my Canon DSLR for hiking, backpacking and general travel photography. We did a week+ trip to the Rocky Mountains, and I put it through all the paces camping and backpacking. I've also used it for some portraiture work and flower photography.
Pros:
  • Fast Shutter Speed
  • Good Battery Life
  • Good Firmware Upgrades
  • Great Lenses From Fuji
  • Great Resolution
  • Large Clear LCD
  • Small / Compact
Cons:
  • Focusing Can Be Slow

Fujifilm X-E1 review

It came as no surprise that on the back of the success Fujifilm had with its fashionable rangefinder-style FinePix X100, the company should announce what is effectively an interchangeable-lens version in the form of the X-Pro1. What is perhaps surprising is just how good the newer model is.

A Decent Slr

I bought this camera for WildLife photography as I love to trek. This camera is very portable and also takes great photos. The lens kit provided helps me take night photos easily which was an expected feature.

Fujifilm X-E1

Having provided a detailed 'First Look' at Fujifilm's X-E1 interchangeable-lens camera in September, rather than re-hash the information supplied there, we'll concentrate on aspects of the camera we were unable to assess in our initial overview: handling and performance.
