The Fujifilm X-A5 is the most entry-level mirrorless camera from Fujifilm, falling below all X-E and X-T family members, both in terms of price and performance. Just looking at images from the X-A5 though, one would be surprised these come from such a low-cost digital camera.

On paper the X-A5 looks pretty average, with average specs, an average price and a fairly predictable take on the low-end mirrorless camera. What elevates it above the ordinary, however, is its excellent image quality and the fact that you can capture sharp, well-exposed shots without really trying.

The X-A5 is a nice little snapshooters' camera that provides above-average resolution for stills capture across a decent range of ISO settings. The flip-up monitor works well for ‘selfies' and the touch screen is easy to use, although recording movies can become a point-and-pray exercise in bright...

While it looks very similar to its predecessor, the X-A5 gets all the necessary upgrades needed in order for it to be a good vlogging camera. The addition of a microphone jack, the simplified zoom lens, and updated imaging processor all help in making the X-A5 capture good photos and videos.

The Fujifilm X-A5 succeeds the Fujifilm X-A3 that was released towards the end of 2016 as the entry point to Fujifilm's X-series mirrorless range. It's primarily designed to appeal to vloggers and casual photographers looking to take their first step up from the camera that's on their smartphone.
