Fujifilm XF10 Review

The Fujifilm XF10 has lots of limitations, but it’s a pocket-sized street or travel camera rather than all-rounder. Its slim body and terrific image quality are what really count.

Slim and pocketable; Inexpensive for a premium compact; Snapshot mode for ‘grab’ shots; Sharpness and image quality; Twin control dials;

No viewfinder; Rear screen doesn’t tilt; No optical stabilisation;

Fujifilm XF10 review: Ailing autofocus affects fixed-lens camera's appeal

The large lens and wide aperture have the potential to deliver delightful images, but the noisy and poor autofocus often makes it a struggle to get there.

Image quality from that huge sensor is often excellent; Small scale makes it genuinely pocketable;

Sloppy autofocus system frequently hunts and fails to focus; Poor close-up focus for sharpness;

Fujifilm XF10

Fujifilm is offering a unique proposition with the XF10. This truly compact digital camera produces image-quality that rivals entry-level DSLRs and barely weights 330g, including a fast 18.5mm F/2.8 lens. Not only do DSLRs weigh more, just any F/2.8 lens alone would too!

High image quality in truly compact size; Very low image noise until ISO 6400; Excellent sharpness from wide-open; Good dynamic-range; Highly sensitive AF; Very good AF accuracy; Efficient controls; Great LCD visibility

Slow autofocus system; particularly in low-light; Multi-Segment Metering too weighed on center; Some cast under tungsten lighting; Slow shot-to-shot speed; Video record delay; No viewfinder; No stabilization

Ok but very slow focus

The camera is nice but there are some big problems first the focus is slow and it makes a lot of noise when trying to get focus and sometimes it just can't get focus and keeps going back and forth trying sadly it's not for me so it's going back

The all-new Fujifilm XF10 is a pocket-sized 18mm f/2.8 fixed lens premium compact camera with a 24.2 Megapixel APS-C sensor that only weighs 280 grams. Perfect for street photographers, it looks surprisingly like the much-beloved (and now out-of-date) Ricoh GR 2.

Fujifilm XF10-24mm F4 R OIS Lens XF10-24MMF4 R OIS review

The Fujinon XF 10–24 mm f/4R OIS is undoubtedly a good lens – still we admit its performance left us a bit dissatisfied. As one of the most expensive ultra-wide angle device on the market it should have been beyond reproach in every category; instead we got several slip-ups which simply shouldn’t...

too weak image quality on the edge of the frame at 24 mm focal length; bad distortion correction; huge vignetting at the shortest focal length; exorbitant price

Fujifilm XF10-24mm F4 R OIS Lens XF10-24MMF4 R OIS review

Its ultra wide to standard focal length capabilities make it the perfect choice for shooting dynamic, high impact landscapes images with excellent detail from the foreground to the far distance.

Fujifilm XF10-24mm F4 R OIS Lens XF10-24MMF4 R OIS review

This ultra-wide angle zoom lens for Fujifilm X-series interchangeable lens cameras provides a field of view equivalent to 15-36mm lens on a 35mm camera, sports a constant maximum aperture of f/4 and costs around £850.

Fujifilm XF10 is the cheapest APS-C compact yet

In an age when most people believe phone photos are "dSLR quality," whatever that means, a camera with an actual dSLR-size sensor and a fixed-focal-length lens is a tough sell. Fujifilm has carved a niche for its X100 series with enthusiasts who appreciate the image-quality advantages of a large sensor.

At $500 it's less expensive than many smaller-sensor competitors. But it's got a relatively slim feature set in comparison, too.
