Weekend at Bernese Alps.

Mount Panorama is a treacherous circuit, but at the crest of its dizzying 174-meter climb is a view of the Australian countryside so gorgeous that for a few fleeting moments all that exists is you and the howl of a roaring engine. Moments like this are what make Forza Motorsport 5 so special.

Open-wheel cars are a terrifying delight to drive; A generous and flexible career mode; Expanded Top Gear partnership adds humor and context; Visually staggering presentation

Far fewer tracks and cars than Forza 4; Drivatar AI can get overly aggressive

Forza Motorsport 5 review

I awarded Forza Motorsport 4 a perfect score on the Xbox 360 and bought hundreds of dollars' worth of sim-racing peripherals to play it. It is safe to say then, that I am a fan of the Forza series and a sim-racing enthusiast.

Native 1080p @ 60fps; Unmatched sound design; Great 16 car online multiplayer; Works great with new Xbox One controller; Drivatars bring life to offline races

Unwanted monetisation; Less tracks; Less cars; Less value

Forza Motorsport 5

Forza Motorsport remains a brand which delivers quality. The new generation of platform allows more to be done and sometimes it's easy to get carried away which may have happened in a couple of places here, but nothing detracts from the overall WOW of another brilliant Forza Motorsport title.

Forza Motorsport 5

Part two of the three part Xbox One launch title retrospective pulls into high gear.

All of the usual Forza greatness; Beautiful graphics; drivatars; impulse feedback is amazingly utilized

Drivatars are jerks; fewer tracks; feels more arcade-like and less like a racing sim

Forza Motorsport 5 Review

Forza Motorsport 5 combines superior visuals, futureworld technology, and the series-standard love for cars and car culture into a flagship launch title for the Xbox One.

Stunningly gorgeous graphics; Creepy Drivatar AI profiles of your friends enhances investment in offline racing; Superior car handling and use of controller rumble

Trimmed down lineup of cars and tracks is disappointing; A challenging game for the mainstream audience that a launch title will bring in; Microtransactions may be unnecessary; but it's yucky to see them

Forza Motorsport 5

Forza Motorsport races back onto our screens, this time as an Xbox One launch title, looking to showcase the new Xbox's power. When were introduced to Forza 5 on the Xbox One, Dan Greenawalt, creative director at Turn 10 Studios, pointed out that usually a full racing sim wouldn't arrive until some...

Sumptuous looks; sounds great; plenty of cars; customisation

Might be too serious for some; loading times are still a little long; in-game purchases look like the only way to get to top cars
