An extremely solid rally game that proves the versatility of Forza's driving model, but the asking price is just a touch too high to fully justify it.

Forza Horizon continues the franchise's backward slide into inaccessibility I initially started this review after playing a significant amount of Forza Horizon, reasoning that the experience to that point had been sufficiently similar that I could write about the game in good conscience.

I've always been a fan of the Forza franchise...well, not always. I started out as a die-hard Gran Turismo fan. GT3 was a spectacular game with more cars than I had ever seen in a single title. The controls were terrifically accurate, and the integration with the steering wheel was spot-on.

Although this Forza is unlike any Forza you've played before, it will feel familiar to anyone who's played Smuggler's Run, Fuel, Test Drive Unlimited 2, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, Burnout Paradise, or Driver. Basically, there's a lot of driving between the driving.

This game is a joke. The worst insult to the forza name possible. Terrible physics, no tuning, ruddy need for speed toolbag characters and graphics are terrible (i know it's open world, don't care, it's just another thing that sucks about his game).

Forza Horizon is a mixture of a music festival, and a racing event. All of this gets rolled right into one. We get up into Colorado, listen to the radio and find out there are ten slots left. So it is drive like crazy to get one of them. From there we start to compete in events.

Get beyond the cynical positioning of Forza Horizon and you'll find a racer that is, ironically, as efficient and refined as it's older, more mature, siblings.
