There are countless games dedicated to playing the sport of football (soccer, not hand-egg). However, they are mostly designed to let you live out the fantasy of being a player on the field.

If any series gets the whole sports managerial thing down pat, it's Football Manager . Year on year the complex managing game from Sports Interactive brings with it an addictive albeit confronting managing experience.

Let's be honest here. If you've ever bought an edition of the Football Manager series, you're buying this one. The series is second to none, and I'm happy to announce that the 2014 edition is the best of the lot, just as everyone expected.

Football Manager 2014 doesn't do anything new to attract a broader audience, but armchair team managers are bound to enjoy it.

The tactics-related changes introduced by Football Manager 2014 are truly significant and it will be interesting to see how fans react to them and to the way they change the simulation experience.

An excellent enhanced version of Football manager that takes the franchise to the next level of play. A fully immersive football experience that allows a true fan of the beautiful game to be part of his/her favorite clubs history, past, present, and future.

I have spent (or 'wasted') a great deal of my life playing Football Manager or Championship Manager since the mid-90s, but that long run may have now come to an end. Football Manager 2014 is the worst in the history of the franchise and has gone massively backwards since the 2012 version.

Feature wise, everything you could want and expect from the PC version makes an appearance in this impressive port. I'm a big fan of the streamlined classic mode which harks back to the heydays of Championship Manager 99 and 00.
