The fifth in the mainline series, Far Cry 5 is the first game to be set in the USA, something a lot of people were not counting on. However, the fictional Hope, Montana, is indeed a beautiful setting for the series that manages to finally bring a much needed shakeup to the series.

Far Cry 5 is precisely what it says on the tin – It's a Far Cry game through and through, and if you weren't a fan before then this isn't going to be the title to make you change your mind.

Far Cry 5 brings its open-world shooter formula closer to home for many players. The resistance meter and intel systems are cleverly implemented and help guide players throughout the large open world of Hope County.

So I'm screaming down the highway in a purple Semi with Heart's Barracuda blasting over the radio. Gorgeous Montana scenery is whipping past, and there's a massive machine gun strapped to the truck.

I come into Far Cry 5 with a bit of skepticism. I've somewhat enjoyed the series, but I've only beaten Far Cry 3 and Primal. The rest I've tasted: played for a while, but never really committed to. I'm not fully onboard this franchise.

Far Cry is a franchise about villains. Sure there is someone who has to fix everything that the villain did, but that isn't the focus. The whole crux of the game and its story comes down to the villain that shapes the world and the better the villain, the easier it is to get invested in the game.

Far Cry 5 is easily my favorite Far Cry title to date. Taking what made the franchise good and streaming it is something I had wanted from the franchise for awhile now. A plethora of missions, a massive world to explore, great cast of characters, and an Arcade mode that adds infinite replayability.

Before we talk about Far Cry 5, I need to address a problem that Ubisoft had been battling for a while - Intellectual Property stagnation. Assassin's Creed had fallen into a rut, as had Rainbow Six, and some might argue Splinter Cell and even Far Cry.
