There's no denying that Far Cry 3 was one of the great games of the last generation of consoles and Ubisoft absolutely nailed the feeling of open world, crazy adventuring, coupled with a strong and well driven narrative. Hell even the psycho was, well, a believable psycho.

Far Cry 4 is more of what made Far Cry 3 a great game, and that's OK. So long as Ubisoft doesn't get too comfortable here. The franchise probably needs an engine upgrade for the next iteration as some aspects of the game feel a little antiquated.

It's the same game you played, but just different enough and executed well enough to seriously recommend getting if you love this genre.

While each of Ubisoft's previous sandbox shooters has felt like a reinvention of the franchise, this year's offering hews so close to the structure of Far Cry 3 that it sometimes feels like a re-skin. But does it really matter when the end result is this much fun?

Poor texture work on everyday things

I have long awaited to purchase Farcry 4 as I have loved all of the predecessors. Once again it's a step up and the new platform aids the stunning scenery and crisp game play. Highly recommended and a total time waster ha!

I've spent the last minute tagging everyone in the outpost. I've scouted out the alarms, I've found a tiger trapped in a cage. I've got a full complement of arrows -- fire, explosive and the regular pointy kind -- and I'm all set to stealthily dismantle the outpost.

If you never played FC3 but you always wanted to see what the developers have been trying to do since FC2, then FC4 is the game for you. It's very similar to FC3 but improved and balanced to near perfection.
