Fantastic game. I took my time with it. Gave me a sense of adventure. One of my favourite games on PS4
The winner of the overall GiN Game of the Year, Far Cry 4, continues to improve and expand. Whereas the first DLC, Escape From Durgesh Prison, brought us a perma-death 30 minute thrill ride which could be extended by activities during the brief adventure, Valley of the Yetis offers more of a...
Far Cry 4 is an amazing game, although the story isn't the most thrilling, it keeps you entertained as you run, gun, sneak and fly through a beautiful Kyrat landscape. For me it got a little repetitive towards the end, but I had pretty much completed everything in the game, so it's not a big issue.
When I hear the words ‘Far Cry' mentioned, memories of 2012 come flooding back. Memories such as walking through luscious forest in fear of being mauled by a nearby wandering tiger, driving along rocky paths at breakneck speeds you just wouldn't dare to do in real-life, to taking down those...
A lively; vast and very graphically rich world of Kyrat with lots to uncover; Plenty of dynamic and structured missions to keep you focused/distracted; Flying the mini copter vehicle alone is worthy of the entry fee
Eagles! Those pesky air-attacking eagles; You can spend hours outside of the main campaign; Auto drive AI is terrible and some enemy AI could be improved
The Far Cry series has a unique pedigree. From the very first title, it became the embodiment of cutting edge graphics and established the standard to which all other titles were compared.
At the start of Far Cry 4 , the despotic yet not wholly despicable Pagan Min invites you to simply sit at his table and eat. You don't have to join the rebellious Golden Path in fighting him for control of your native homeland, as you can indulge in the crab rangoon instead.
This is probably the best that Far Cry has ever been. And that's saying something.
The scale of the environment is stunning to behold and interactive with; Consistent surprises mean it's impossible to ease into a predictable routine
Competitive multiplayer is functional and nothing more; Disappointing, Some missions are overly linear, at odds with expansiveness elsewhere
It may not bring many new ideas to the table but this is a hugely enjoyable open world shooter, with the best co-op options in the genre.
Fantastic open world environment that's a pleasure to explore, especially with the great vehicles and fun weapons; Excellent co-op and interesting story branching
Very similar structure and features to Far Cry 3; None of the characters are sympathetic and some may cause offence; Hunting certainly will if you love animals
Far Cry 4 certainly has a big pair of boots to fill, especially moving into the PS4/XB1 era. And truth be told, it is at first glance just more of the same, just with a new setting and a new story.
