Fallout: New Vegas – Old World Blues – Review (PS3)

ld World Blues is the third expansion to hit New Vegas, and this one is arguably the pick of the bunch. While Dead Money and Honest Hearts were far from bad, neither had that extra spark to make them essential downloads, whereas this latest offering attempts to deliver a little something more to the...

Test Fallout New Vegas

Fallout: New Vegas Review

As a follow-up to one of the greatest open world action-RPGs in the past several years, New Vegas tries very hard to be like its big brother, but ultimately falls a bit short. Perhaps Bethesda should have left the game in the oven a bit longer to work out all the kinks and bugs.

The enormous and detailed world to explore; The player choice is front and center; The heaps of side missions to tackle

The crippling glitches and bugs; The long load times; The dated graphics and poor voice-synching

Fallout: New Vegas Review

As the saying goes, war never changes, and if the newest entry in the post-apocalypic series is any example, neither does Fallout . Fallout: New Vegas isn't so much a sequel to Fallout 3 as it is an elaborate piece of DLC.

More great fallout-style gameplay; Dozens of hours of content; A useful and robust companion system; Captivating faction dynamics

Incredibly; inexcusably glitchy; Slowly paced; underwhelming side-quests; Lacks an emotionally gripping single-player story

PS3 Review – Fallout: New Vegas

In spite of Fallout: New Vegas being plagued with bugs, it still manages to take what is familiar and make it work. Sadly, I'm still not sure if putting in the hours is worth the effort just yet because of the random crashing that occurs, and that can really break your patience if you forgot to make...

+ Loads of missions and replay value; -/+ Little improvements over Fallout 3

Fallout: New Vegas Review

Fallout: New Vegas is all about more . There's more to do in New Vegas than in Fallout 3, its superb predecessor; there's more complexity to its gameplay mechanics; and sadly, there are far more bugs than you should expect from a modern role-playing game.

Incredibly huge and detailed world; loaded with stuff to do; Side quests are mostly terrific and brimming with personality; Faction reputation system leads to incredible flexibility; Great atmosphere; in and out of the Vegas Strip; Your choices have palpable consequences

Absolutely swarming with disastrous bugs; Some quests are not enjoyable; Main story isn't compelling

An End To All Things

Playing Fallout New Vegas over the past year, I've come to see the main storyline and the tales told through the downloaded content packs (DLC) as two separate entities. Really, if this were anyone else other than the team of Bethesda and Obsidian, the plot and gameplay found in the four DLCs would...

Fallout New Vegas

In "Fallout: New Vegas" you sort of do begin with a birth, a re-birth specifically as you are rescued from the grave (literally) and patched up, from a bullet to the brainpan that thankfully missed it's mark, by the wise and haggard Doc Mitchell.

Fallout: New Vegas – Lonesome Road

Although the preceding DLC for New Vegas have vastly differed in content and quality, one thread running through them has been a narrative strand with references to Lonesome Road , or more specifically, to the mysterious character known as Uylsess.

Fallout: New Vegas: Old World Blues

By this point, the courier should know better than to pay heed to the anomalies that periodically pop up in the wasteland. In Old World Blues, Fallout New Vegas' third downloadable expansion, it's once more through the wringer for the fearless desert wanderer.
