The world of sports video games is a fickle one for developers. It couldn't be any truer when it comes to the ongoing battle for supremacy between the two prominent IPs in world football, FIFA and PES . This year, EA Sports decided that it was time for big changes.

PES had fallen shy for a while in terms of competing with FIFA, but the series has shown great form over the past 2-3 years and this year's game really took the fight directly to it for...

Well to start off my review I will have to say is what a game Fifa 17 been so far. I got it the same day it came out (i didn't have EA access) and the first thing I HAD to play was of course the brand new feature "The Journey".

The last two years haven't been brilliant for FIFA fans. In 2014 EA implemented numerous changes to the game, and the result was not entirely positive. Last year, with FIFA 16 , the gameplay was improved, but absurd difficulty levels ruined the solo content.

Frostbite engine is a fantastic addition; Breathtaking depiction of football; The Journey is a blast; Career Mode is great; Ultimate Team is as addictive as ever; Wonderful soundtrack

Penalties are broken; Free kicks feel and look awkward; Defensive AI can be a pain in the butt on higher difficulty settings; Goalkeepers have superman-like reflexes at close range

For all that FIFA promises something for every football fan, from the casual observer to the full-kit fanatic, I still find myself wishing that EA Sports would spend a little more time focusing on the basics.

It has nice visuals since EA put it on the Frostbite engine and like all the previous versions there are always a few upgrades, however I must remove a star due to not having a full practice arena.
