FIFA 15

I have never been a huge fan of soccer, but with the World Cup happening this past summer, the urge to dive more into the world's sport was stronger than ever. I would have to say much of the success FIFA has garnered over the years has a lot to do with the refined gameplay that EA has been able to...

FIFA 15 (PlayStation 4)

2014 was a FIFA World Cup year, though Electronic Arts' FIFA 14 actually came out last year and was themed around the journey to the tournament. FIFA 14 was also notable in that it was the first time the series came to the current generation of consoles.

A highly polished soccer experience; Tweaked pace of gameplay adds to realism

Team members sometimes get outsmarted by the opponent; Mostly of an evolution over last year's edition

FIFA 15 PS4 Review

The arrival of the PS4 and the Xbox One consoles allowed EA to add in extra little touches in FIFA 14 which weren't present in the previous generation versions. With FIFA 15, they've took several steps forward in terms of the detail, and a number of little touches make the game more authentic than...

FIFA 15 Review

We've been kicking digital FIFA footballs for over two decades. Think about that for a moment. Two decades of development has gone into a series, which, for many people around the world, is the benchmark for whether or not they buy the new consoles.

FIFA 15 Review – PlayStation 4

Those three words are considered internationally to be the embodiment of the worlds' most beloved sport – soccer. In their native Portuguese language these three words translate to The Beautiful Game, which has been used to decades to describe the complexity and fluidity of the game that has the...

FIFA 15

and whatever that will be this year, but that's yet to be known. With all of that, it's a pleasure to see a product from EA that arrives with confidence and proper execution, and this is what can happen when a team has the resources to keep improving on their vision year over year.

FIFA 15

A single moment can say a great deal about a game's design philosophy. For me, that moment came in a game between me (as Man City) and the CPU (as Chelsea). Pablo Zabaleta won the ball with a crunching challenge on Eden Hazard; the Belgian hit the deck, with Zabaleta about to stride onto the loose...

Superb animation; Big-match atmosphere; Custom team sheets

Intrusive cutaways; Dodgy teammate AI

Welcome to the highlight reel.

Perhaps more than ever, this year's FIFA comes down to the little details. If you played last season's game, then the visuals, game modes, on-pitch action, and means of interaction will be immediately familiar. As a result, the learning curve in FIFA 15 is almost nonexistent.

New goalkeeper animations add diversity and visual flair; Opposition AI is more adaptable; less predictable; Ultimate Team's 'loan' system reduces the mode's inherent grind; Tactics and formations are easier to implement and design; Focus on attacking play makes for great online matches

Commentary remains awkward; Emphasis on exciting football could limit long-term depth

Sitting At The Top Of The Table

Concept: An impressive leap in gameplay augments the already-full feature set. Graphics: From the look of the players and the pitch to the overall presentation package, it's all top notch. Sound: The timing and overall context of the commentary has improved from last year.
