The next generation is upon us, and what a better debut for EA Sports to showcase what they can do than what they have accomplished with the Xbox One version of FIFA 14. This game is so fluid. I don't buy FIFA games every year but because I sprung for the Xbox One I needed a game I could play with my son. We have had a lot of fun so far with it. Getting ready to start a season, just have to pick my random team in the EPL.

For obvious reasons the next gen FIFA 14 is the best looking football game that you are currently going to feast your eyes upon, and so it should, it is a next gen title after all. Everything from the action on the pitch and off it with the dynamic crowds has set a new high standard.

As we inch closer to the big day, many moms, dads, brothers or drunk uncles are looking for that must have Xbox One game to put under the tree. Let's face it none of the launch games scream "you must own this". Sure Forza 5 and Dead Rising 3 are pretty solid launch titles.

Because we've already reviewed FIFA 14, this article will focus on what's new to the Xbox One - and an obvious starting point would be in the visuals. From a distance, it would be difficult to tell that you're playing a next-gen game.

Graphically superior but lacking in content compared to the current generation

This is an amazing game. It's stunning. So much fun to play and I love when I make a good goal the xbox records it. EA did an amazing job. Great game for any sports loving gamer.

Lofted through balls are still a tad too accurate – making attacks up the wing far too easy to set up – but on balance, pound for pound, this might just be the best version of any FIFA currently available on any format.
