FIFA 14 Review (Xbox One)

EA Sports does this with its new Ignite game engine, which is being used to power FIFA 14, Madden NFL 14 and NBA Live 14, titles set to deliver significantly improved mechanics and visuals on next-gen platforms when compared to current-gen ones and the PC.

+ New Ignite engine features; + Smoother match experience; + Legends for Ultimate Team

- Some modes have been dropped; - No restart option for individual matches

FIFA 14

"It is a slower, more methodical game that can frustrate as often as it delights" "You're often forced to play the ball out wide to avoid the mass of humanity standing between yourself and the goal." "Goals feel more organic and varied here than they have in a FIFA game for years.

Stunning presentation and attention to detail; More varied and more attractive goals; Expanded career mode with better scouting

Stodgy midfield battles; Movement is stuttery and clumsy; Player errors take control from your hands

FIFA 14 Review – Xbox 360

This is the bottom line: both FIFA 14 and PES 2014 are $60 games. That's a lot of money for most people especially these days when it's unusual for a game to be played more than 2 weeks.

Keep in mind this reviewer did not have access to a PS4 to do a comparison review, but I can imagine for the most part this review...

FIFA 14

EA Sports has made vast improvements with FIFA 14 on next-gen consoles which makes the experience better than ever before. FIFA 14 manages to create a realistic soccer simulation that has players moving and behaving like their real-world counterparts within a stadium full of dynamic life.

Kicking It Up Again

It seems that every year a new FIFA game comes out, reviewers all say, "There's no way EA can make FIFA any better." Sooner or later, the game's going to hit a plateau or, possibly worse, fall into the same cycle Madden did and become a rehashing of the same game year after year.

FIFA 14

FIFA's first outing on next-gen is a solid effort that isn't likely to disappoint the casual or hardcore FIFA fan. Between the two, the Xbox One version includes voice command support via Kinect and legendary players in Ultimate Team, so I give it a slight edge as otherwise the gameplay is...

Not too different from last year, but a stellar soccer sim.

Parents need to know that FIFA 14 , like its predecessors, is a family-friendly soccer simulation that aims to recreate professional soccer. Other than some branding and unmonitored online voice chat, there isn't anything to be concerned about.
