Because we've already reviewed FIFA 14, this article will focus on what's new to the Xbox One - and an obvious starting point would be in the visuals. From a distance, it would be difficult to tell that you're playing a next-gen game.
As we inch closer to the big day, many moms, dads, brothers or drunk uncles are looking for that must have Xbox One game to put under the tree. Let's face it none of the launch games scream "you must own this". Sure Forza 5 and Dead Rising 3 are pretty solid launch titles.
The next generation is upon us, and what a better debut for EA Sports to showcase what they can do than what they have accomplished with the Xbox One version of FIFA 14. Keep in mind this reviewer did not have access to a PS4 to do a comparison review, but I can imagine for the most part this review...
This game is so fluid. I don't buy FIFA games every year but because I sprung for the Xbox One I needed a game I could play with my son. We have had a lot of fun so far with it. Getting ready to start a season, just have to pick my random team in the EPL.
Easy to learn; Fun To Play; Good Audio; Graphics; Kid Appropriate; Multiplayer
For obvious reasons the next gen FIFA 14 is the best looking football game that you are currently going to feast your eyes upon, and so it should, it is a next gen title after all. Everything from the action on the pitch and off it with the dynamic crowds has set a new high standard.
All new Ignite engine brings new levels of realism; Looks & Plays fantastic; Filled with modes and content; FUT Legends is an awesome touch (XB Exclusive
Could have done with more player likenesses for lesser teams in top leagues; Would love to see new stadiums via DLC
Excellent price. Delivered as described, even the dlc code worked!
"A whole new ball game"
It seems that every year a new FIFA game comes out, reviewers all say, "There's no way EA can make FIFA any better." Sooner or later, the game's going to hit a plateau or, possibly worse, fall into the same cycle Madden did and become a rehashing of the same game year after year.
FIFA 14 on next-gen is a more refined, polished, and pleasing version of a brilliant sports game. Ready for extra time?
