Tough but gratifying, F1 2013 is not a startling improvement from the already robust F1 2012, but it's certainly Codemasters' best and most confident crack at F1 to date. It looks good, sounds good, feels good, and is crammed with plenty to do.

F1 2013 is Codemasters' latest attempt to bring the highly technical and demanding world of Formula One racing into our living rooms. As its name suggests, the game features all the drivers, teams, cars and tracks from the 2013 season which is currently in its final stages.

Like a stroll along the beach on a hot summer's day to a deckchair, Formula 1 could loosely be described as a long procession in which a German beats everyone else to it. The dominance of Red Bull and Vettel haven't done the image of Formula 1 much good lately, so it is with relief I can say that F1...

With a fourth attempt at the F1 series, stagnant rules before major changes next year and no new tracks on the calendar, what can Codemasters do to keep the series fresh? This is the fourth year running that Codemasters have released a mainline F1 title, and as you would expect it's yet another accomplished racing game from one of the world's premiere racing studios, but it faces the same challenge most annual games, especially sports games, face: how do you persuade...

It's pole position once again for Codemasters' F1, despite a lack of any real, meaningful changes over F1 2012 beyond the addition of F1 Classics. F1 2013 is still a superb racer, but we're expecting big things for next year. Go! Go! Go!
