Evolve

Fun, if overly frantic, Evolve is a genuinely unique online offering. Its intriguing ideas don't always pay off, and content-wise the game is a little bare bones, but hey, monsters!

Sturdy shooting and enjoyable 'platforming; Coordinating with pals can be a hoot; Daisy the adorable dino dog AI tracker

Action can be frustratingly chaotic; All 16 maps are bland; indistinct bowls; Really; really needs to be played with a mic

Evolve Review

Evolve is a powerful yet strange beast. Just like all the great predators of our planet Earth, people seem to both love and hate it. The parts people love about Evolve are pretty obvious – the ability to play as giant monsters that could give Godzilla a run for his money, the asymmetrical gameplay...

Extremely well-balanced gameplay for both sides; Lots of depth and replay value; A great visual package that offers the best of both technology and creativity

Occasional bugs can cramp your style; Some monsters and characters definitely more fun to play than others; Single-player is basically multiplayer with bots

PS4 Review - 'Evolve'

In Evolve , an attempt by humans to colonize the planet Shear has gone disastrously wrong. Mutating Monsters appeared, and the fate of the colony rests in the hands of a group of Hunters, who are from around the galaxy.

Evolve Review

Well that was initially the case with Evolve. Coming from a graphic design background there was something almost perfect about the Evolve logo. The positioning of the V, the four small blocks on the left of the V and the large block on the right of it.

Evolve is now available on store shelves (and digital... and wherever else you want to buy it); but with all the problems that online shooters have experienced over the past few months, we're holding off on assigning a score for now.

Evolve Review

Developer Turtle Rock Studios worked on the Left 4 Dead series with Valve, so it's only fitting that the same company manages to create another meaningful "co-petitive" hybrid experience with Evolve .

Hunters vs; monster is a great idea, All classes feel important, Playing as the monster is a blast, Caters to both groups and single players

Thin progression system; May feel repetitive for some players

Evolve review

An original and tactically broad multiplayer shooter, but one lacking in physical, tangible satisfaction in its combat.

Evolve PS4 Review

From Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock Studios', Evolve has big shoes to fill. During my time with the monster-hunting first-person shooter, I've stepped into the role of each of the hunters, played as every monster, and enjoyed every single minute of it; apart from when I ended up with a team of...

Get your hunt on - Evolve review

Building a video game based all around a multiplayer aspect seems like a tough thing to achieve in 2015. It has been a few years since a game of that nature caught on, with one of the more recent examples being Left 4 Dead, developed by Turtle Rock Studios.

Brilliant balancing of characters; Playing as the monster is a blast; Evacuation mode is well done; Diverse abilities/weapons keeps the gameplay fresh

Visuals leave a bit to be desired; Matching up with random people can ruin matches; Takes way too long for a match to actually begin
