Great light, so-so ballhead, app fails to connect
I've been using this for a few months for my home office, and I'm quite pleased with it. The light is powerful enough to illuminate me nicely for video conferences, yet not hard on the eyes. The default color temperature is quite good (and I say that as a long-time hobbyist photographer who tends to notice those things).
The mount is pretty solid, except the ballhead construction is weird: When I want to take the light off the mount, the ballhead splits into two pieces. This makes it awkward to store and reassemble, so I would not want to use this for on-the-go photography. Fortunately, it's not an issue when used as an office lamp.
I have attempted several times to connect the app, but it keeps failing. It would have been nice with a USB port for connecting manually, or a knob or two to adjust light/color. Alternatively, a light sensor to adjust the color to match the surroundings would make the app much less necessary - I don't like having apps for simple devices anyway.
