ELEX

ELEX brings the popular action role playing genre into a science fiction setting. Opting for a touch of post apocalyptic themes alongside a dark and complex world ELEX is a mixture of game elements into one.

Fantastic large town designs that gives the sense of a real game world; Unique setting and storyline encourages you to continue forward

Lacking combat throughout that makes this game mechanics more chore than fun; Lower grade textures scattered within higher textures break some of the immersion; Movement can be clunky and difficult to utilise

Elex Review – An Intriguing World of Tech, Magic and Flaws

There was a little RPG released last generation for consoles and PC called Two Worlds . For many, it went under the radar and was missed due to better RPG giants at the time such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and the soon-to-be released Mass Effect .

Beautiful world filled with interesting locales; Three intriguing factions to join; Plenty of optional content and lengthy main story

Game is poorly optimized; with numerous technical flaws; Protagonist and most NPCs would be better off silent; Plenty of optional content and lengthy main story

ELEX

THQ Nordic has released ELEX for PS4, Xbox One and PC. ELEX is now available and brings gamers a post-apocalyptic science-fantasy universe that has been hand crafted with immaculate detail. ELEX contains a massive overworld for gamers to explore with their handy, dandy jetpack.

They dropped the ball.

This game had great potential. Two really big flaws ruin it. The first one is there is no stealth, like the old first person shooters they have a detection range and get with in it or attack from any range and everybody knows you are there and comes at you all at once.

Elex Review – A Massive Action RPG With Something Missing

I gaze upon the vast tangle of interconnected systems bristling inside this game and I recognize that I am not the target audience. In spite of my boundless patience and unusual fascination with pointless minutiae, the measured pace of this game failed to grip me.

Fascinating concept; Voice acting grows on you; Jetpack is pretty rad

Combat is more frustrating than fun; Quest system is unintuitive; Overall pace is awful slow

Albs are the least of your worries.

As a big, open-world RPG, Elex shows great ambition. The world of Magalan is a fractured yet beautiful place, having spent the last 150 years recovering from the devastating impact of a comet.

Excellent world design propped up by some beautiful environments

Technical flaws and crashes push the limits of patience; Frustrating combat and progression mechanics hinder meaningful character growth; Unresponsive controls lead to disheartening moments
