First appearing back in August, the Sennheiser GSX 1000 amplifier is finally showing up on store shelves. At $229, the smallish accessory might seem a bit pricey. However, gamers and casual listeners alike could benefit from its features.

Not much besides one usb cable to connect your device to your computer and of course your headphones/speakers to the amp. set windows playback speakers to 7.1 and you're done. the rest of the settings are on the amp itself.

In the past, gamers have often been spoon fed second rate, sludgy audio, by various manufacturers. Though that stereotype is certainly changing, that stigma remains. Sennheiser are a brand that owes nothing to the gaming world, yet their latest push with a selection of new gaming orientated products...

Amazing little DAC/Amp combo. the 7.1 virtual surround is great and the reverb settings are nice, they really expand the sounds past your headphones and make it look like yours walls are speakers. the 4 basic EQs are decent.

7.1 sound is awesome, not like any other surround i heard; No drivers needed, plug&play

7.1 only has 16 bit/48000 no 24 bit; Mic quality is bad, tested with Game Zero (Motherboard mic sounds way better)

Exactly what I was looking for. I was tired of the buggy interface of my Asus Strix DLX soundcard so upgraded to this. It's nice not having any drivers as everything is customised via the touchscreen.

Product looks super sexy. The design is fantastic. Unfortunately... this product needs a 2.0 version. The presets are incredibly overly sensitive to even the slightest motion... I had to set all the presets to the same thing because even simply waving my hand over it would change it a different...

I compared getting this vs getting a decent sound card with external MAP… And originally went for the sound card. Ended up getting this GSX1000 on a great special, and its an awesome upgrade on even a good soundcard. Great DAC and AMP qualities.
