Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce Review

Stylized and fictionalized events from China's massive historical novel The Romance of the Three Kingdoms are the basis for hours of hacking and slashing. Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce is ported from the PSP title of the same name, and like that release features four-player online play, aerial...

Adds online multiplayer to consoles; Attempts battle scenarios beyond basic 'run and slash; Customize weapons and powers via RPG elements

Offline AI partners more useful than online friends; Combat can be intensely frustrating; Small battle areas not as epic and strategic as past maps

It's not often that a game makes the jump from a portable system to the home consoles. When Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce launched on the PSP last year, it breathed some life into the series' tired hack-and-slash formula with more varied missions, deeper character progression, and an all-new...

New town hub adds role-playing elements and customization options; Online co-op is fun and makes difficult missions much easier

Some missions can be frustratingly difficult; No local cooperative mode; Subpar presentation

Multiplayer Adds Mayhem To Strikeforce

Generally I have a short attention span for games where I have to wade through waves of never ending bad guys, so I wasn't sure what to think when I was handed Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce to review.

game rather than the hack-and-slash Three Kingdoms-era button masher we've come to know and (sometimes) love. Regardless of the series' origins, though, the actual path to today has been fraught with literally Unfortuantely, that also means there's been more than a little burnout as time has gone...

Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce

- What's this? You say Koei has made another Dynasty Warriors game- shock and awe you must be deceiving me. This comes as a surprise shock to gamers worldwide right? YAWN! Well if you thought Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce was just another Musou game (an abbreviation of the Japanese title that acts...

Dynasty Warriors Strike Force

Koei's latest action strategy game has come to pass with Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce now available on the PS3 and XBox 360. Loosely based on the PSP game of the same name, Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce is definitely a step in the right direction and away from ad nauseam.

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce

I've had more fun with Strikeforce on the PS3 than I've ever had with the Dynasty Warriors franchise. To me, the series was stale until now, and while not without its problems, Strikeforce moves Dynasty Warriors back into the realm of relevance.

Review: Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce (Sony PS3)

I said in my previous review of the PSP title that Koei should be commended for trying to aim high. Now that that game is on the PS3 – warts and all – I find myself angry at this lazy, half-assed port.

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce

Let's have some fun shall we? Find a group of so-called "hard core gamers," walk up to them and say nothing but the following words: Dynasty Warriors . Chances are that unless they're a masochist, they're going to groan about redundant gameplay and forgettable sequels.
