I have been a big fan of the DW series since DW4 over 10 years ago. This game has some great things but there are also some disappointments. Let's start with the bad things. One big thing that was kind of annoying is that you basically need DW8 to play the full game of Xtreme Legends.

There are five story lines in the game: Wu, Shu, Wei, Jin, and Lu Bu's story. If you want to play all of them, you need to have Dynasty Warriors 8 and import them to Xtreme Legends. I think that's pretty ridiculous honestly. I advise every DW fan to buy both games if you plan to buy this one.

Dynasty Warriors 8 harkens back to the days of Dynasty Warriors 3 & 4, but loaded with a greater amount of content and a greater degree of polish and refinement--not to mention they brought back 2 much loved features of the series: Co-Op Story Mode and "Free Mode".

Simplicity is bliss. A genuinely true statement of fact. Also a statement of fact that can cripple a game or make it truly brilliant. Simplicity is something that the Warriors' series has been living inside for the better part of 15 years of games.

Dynasty Warriors 8 is not unique. It can't be as an eighth installment, or should I say remake ? After all, the essence of the DW franchise has been to bring history to life, albeit through the use of exaggerated weaponry and eccentric characters.

Amazing game like the rest of the collection!! Delivery was a day early and always have the same guy. What a legend!!

The game is definitely worth it if you played it before. It makes up for the disappointment with Dynasty 6. Game play and story is interesting this time around. Definitely like the longer story mode compared to the older ones. Overall, it is a good play.
