Driver: San Francisco

Good: A solid game that definitely has an audience. Might lack replay value, could be too short or there are some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun.

PS3/X360 Review - 'Driver: San Francisco'

The Driver series kicked off with a strong debut, but as the franchise moved on over the years, the games seemed to lose their magic. Perhaps the biggest mistake the franchise ever made was getting out of the car.

Driver: San Francisco

Lasting impressions of the 2000 debut were great car handling and realistic damage. Fenders would bend, hubcaps flew off and tires howled as they hung on for dear life, as Reflections Interactive drew on inspiration from the 1978 film of the same name.

"Previously, on Driver: San Francisco"

It's a little ironic that, for a franchise that's been on life support since its first sequel, Ubisoft Reflections would decide to put its lead character in a coma for the fifth entry in the Driver series (after ditching him entirely in Driver: Parallel Lines).

great driving experience

short story; multiplayer

"I love it"

I like how you can swap to any car you want and the cars are real not made up ones

An original twist to a succesful franchise. Excellents graphics in a big map to drive with the classic feeling of the first Driver, not to mention the "spirit jumping" of the hero trying to catch his nemesis. Tons of fun and I had just begun the game!

Driver: San Francisco

After a long hiatus the Driver series makes its debut on the "next-generation" consoles with Driver: San Francisco. Set after the events of Driv3r (2004) , developer 'Ubisoft Reflections' maintains their concept of a sandboxed crime racer, however, the gritty idea of playing as a criminal wheelman...

Reinvigorates the Driver series; The oddball concept of shifting works as a game mechanic; Some interesting and funny moments while shifting; Story progression is unveils at a steady pace; Split-screen and multiplayer racing; San Francisco makes an excellent racing playground

Some shifts feel too disconnected from the main objective; Too much UNLOCKING; Multiplayer modes and in-game rides take too long to acquire; It's all a little too ridiculous and at times unfocused

Review: Driver: San Francisco (Playstation 3)

This is the first Driver game I've played since the original that made me feel the way the original did. The cars all handle well and the story is cheesy or whatever, but I like the care and attention to details that went into the game.

Driver San Francisco (PS3)

Driver San Francisco manages to do something other games in long-running franchises often forget, surprising the player with something totally new and unique. By adding the "Shifting" element, Driver San Francisco raises itself well above the typical driving sandbox games.
