It was a gift and he loves it! Not a racing game, but not a long, involved story either. Always something new happening!

Is a very nice game You feel as if you are at San Francisco realy The highways and drives are almost the same I think it would be nice to take a ship to Alcatraz too
What a massive letdown. I am actually glad I ended up buying this used. I had it pre-ordered since I am a fan of the Driver series, but I had to cancel my pre-order when I heard about the online pass that was being shipped with the game.
This game Featuring very impressive character models, the story takes the famous Tanner into another state of mind after being struck by Jericho, his arch enemy. In this state of an out of body experience, Tanner interacts much like a regular Driver game, but with the added ability of shift,...
At their best- racing games can illicit a sense of visceral and immediate mental investment no other genres can quite equal. When you win- there's no doubt that you scraped and fought to earn it, and oh it is ever rapturous.
An original twist to a succesful franchise. Excellents graphics in a big map to drive with the classic feeling of the first Driver, not to mention the "spirit jumping" of the hero trying to catch his nemesis. Tons of fun and I had just begun the game!
Lasting impressions of the 2000 debut were great car handling and realistic damage. Fenders would bend, hubcaps flew off and tires howled as they hung on for dear life, as Reflections Interactive drew on inspiration from the 1978 film of the same name.
Driver: San Francisco takes a brave step in the world of modern, big budget video games. As gamers, we're well used to limitations in our games. The bridges are closed, the roads are blocked, we can't swim until the sequel, you have these weapons and this is how they work.
Looks great; plays well and sounds like Aretha Franklin's iPod set to shuffle; San Francisco is an excellent playground for vehicular mayhem; That surprising Shift mechanic opens up a lot of opportunities for fun; There are loads of side missions and extra things to do
The Director mode could have a little more substance; The boost and ram features feel unnecessary; outside of the multiplayer

Let's just get right to the point shall we? Driver San Francisco has probably the weirdest, most outrageous and unbelievable storyline in gaming history, and the ending is a hell of an anti climax as well while we're at it.
Shift mode is sheer genius; Multiplayer modes use Shift brilliantly.
Story is too short; Not being able to enter film editor during play is a big oversight
