DriveClub is a great racing experience which includes enough content, both single-player and social, to keep fans of the genre occupied for months, especially if they are determined to always be better than their friends.

Solid racing mechanics; Integrated social events

Limits player freedom; Bad soundtrack

DriveClub

'Driveclub' is of course the PS4 game that Sony pitched as a hip (and faster to market than a 'Gran Turismo' installment) first-party racing game long before the PS4 launched. Back in September 2013, two months prior to the PlayStation 4's release, a small batch of Belgian journalists was cordially...

Driveclub review

Team racing and social features are nice perks, but Driveclub's core experience fails to generate much excitement

Clubs are a fun hook; Enjoyable racing; Immediate; dynamic social challenges

Lacks energy or personality; Visual inconsistencies; No vehicle tuning

It's been quite a journey leading up to the launch of Driveclub . What was supposed to launch for free on PS Plus nearly a year ago has finally made it to Sony's service. The team behind the infamous Motorstorm franchise brings us their next venture into the world of racing games.

Challenges are very competitive | Creating a Club with the right people can be fun

No online connection? No fun | It's not sure if it wants to be arcade or simulation | AI are bastards | Only 50 cars to unlock

DriveClub (PS4) Review – Forza Killer? LOL… Just No

I'll start off right out of the gate by saying this; I know how inflammatory the title of this review seems to be. I'll also say that this is a battle that Sony started on their own with a cheeky little ad released just days before DriveClub hit retail shelves.

Driveclub (PlayStation 4)

MotorStorm was one of the more memorable games to come out for the launch of the PlayStation 3. The frantic off-road action and high definition graphics were cutting edge at the time, helping to show off the console's potential.

Impressive environments and car detail; Unique European focus

Euro-centric approach can become tired; Races can get difficult at times

Driveclub

Driving games should be all about speed, but the development of such games should not. Driveclub has some fantastic-sounding features for an arcade racer, but they're marred by what can only be considered a rush job.

Driveclub

Driveclub was a killer app for the PS4 before its launch, but was delayed 11 months for fine-tuning. As a result, the game went from being in direct competition to the sub-par Forza Motorsport 5 to the far-superior Forza Horizon 2.

Hey Driveclub, not bad for a game that still can't quite get off the starting line

I'd really rather not be here, writing this review right now. I'd just as soon wait until Driveclub, a fantastic variation on the usual driving games, achieves the state it deserves to be in, a state I have every reasonable expectation it will eventually reach, a state I've enjoyed firsthand before...
