Evolution Studios' long-awaited racer finally rolls onto the PS4 forecourt. After showing very well at E3 2013 and '14, does it deliver on its promise? Unfortunately, not quite. This is a tough review to write. Only a few weeks ago, I nominated DriveClub as potential Game of the Year .

Big letdown

Big letdown from what was supposed to prove what PSVR was capable of. Luckily, Dirt Rally arrived to prove it.

DriveClub review

In this look at the embryonic stages of Evolution's social racer, Tim Martin finds a beautiful but currently incomplete driving experience.

DriveClub review

This PS4-exclusive racer certainly looks like a supercar, but how does it handle?

DriveClub is a great racing experience which includes enough content, both single-player and social, to keep fans of the genre occupied for months, especially if they are determined to always be better than their friends.

Solid racing mechanics; Integrated social events

Limits player freedom; Bad soundtrack

A truly immersive experience, with excellent sound and visual effects!!

"I bought the VR starter kit for my fiance (*I have rarely played PS games in the past) and I've got to say that we both LOVE IT (and I am absolutely hooked on it). For someone who is housebound such as myself, this is a breath of fresh air!

Sony PS4 review: Slim is still in

Sony PlayStation 4 500GB: Two years on, and the PS4 is still the same fantastic console

Compact design; Energy efficient; Super quiet

Lacks 4K Blu-ray player; PS4 Pro launch on the horizon

Driveclub VR Review – Gotta Go Fast (PSVR)

Then I actually raced a few laps, and I totally forgot about how ugly it was. Sure, I noticed the occasional pop-in and things never looked as sharp as they should be, but the focus was purely on the racing. I was able to overlook its rough edges since the racing here is tremendous fun.

Racing feels more thrilling than ever; Career mode is enjoyable; Nice 3D effects

Assets clearly weren't meant for this fidelity; No bikes; Driveclub on PS4 has a lot more content

A wheelie good time - Motorclub Bikes review

Driveclub is not Gran Turismo. Despite sharing a genre and PlayStation exclusivity, Driveclub always feels like a clunkier, but competent, little brother. Like other "little brothers" of this world, Driveclub looks small when trying to compete in the same auto racing arena as its bigger counterpart.

Excellent racing mechanics; Competitive A.I; Fun and challenging; Dynamic challenges

Lacking customization; Limiting in bikes available
