Driveclub Review: Stuck in First Gear

While Driveclub is a functional game, it lacks the polish or depth seen in other contemporary racing titles like Forza Horizon 2, or even last-gen driving simulators like Gran Turismo 6.

Solid visuals; Straightforward game modes

Bland soundtrack; Confusing driving environment; Small car roster; No tuning or customization options

DriveClub VR PlayStation VR Review

With immensely detailed cars, lighting and weather, DriveClub is one of the most beautiful games that money can buy. DriveClub VR , on the other hand, is the ugly duckling of the DriveClub family, but if you can get past the disappointing visuals, it's still a racer that is well worth playing.

PlayStation VR Review: Driveclub VR

As PSVR's first driving game, Driveclub VR sets a powerful standard for anyone else who enters the arena. If your body can handle it, Driveclub VR is a truly in-depth racer and the VR makes it so much more intense. Definitely one for motor enthusiasts.

DriveClub VR is a vomit comet

Just to be clear: we've been playing and testing VR games for years now and we've only ever once felt physically sick whilst doing do. ( Dying Light back in 2013, thanks for asking.) But it only took 30 minutes for Driveclub VR to make that twice.

DriveClub

Driveclub has had a tumultuous life cycle. From a bare-bones release to a messed-up PlayStation Plus edition to the shutting down of developer Evolution Studios, you'd almost forget it was actually pretty good. Unfortunately, in the transition to PlayStation VR , its beauty has once again suffered.

Loads of content; Arcade handling makes racing fun in VR; Being able to look around in the seat is great

Visuals have taken a huge hit; Weather effects absent

PS4 Slim review: it's the same gaming platform you're used to, and that's no bad thing

Four years down the line and 40 million units sold, the PS4 has been a great success for Sony. By focussing on games first and foremost, the Japanese entertainment giant as managed to quickly rebuild a customer base that was severely depleted thanks to the pretty large mistakes made with the...

Great gaming platform; Good value for money; Controller could be best ever

Optical audio port removed; Still not sure on aesthetics

Game Review: DriveClub [PS4]

DriveClub, a game which got delayed a year because Evolution Studios needed more time to polish the game, it was originally scheduled to be a PS4 launch title. After waiting a year, DriveClub launched on the 10th of October, but was riddled with online connection problems.

Fantastic range of cars; Singleplayer has a lot of race variety; Each re-load can have different results; Plenty of track & road variations; Challenging & enjoyable; Customisation is very good & offers some nice designs; Online Clubs are the way to go; Day & Night cycle is a brilliant feature/br

Online is yet to function properly; Online racers have tendancy to spin your off road; Steep learning curve may put off some; The soundtrack is almost non existent

DriveClub Review | Hell on Wheels?

The Short Version: The fact that DriveClub is still mostly a wreck for ALL of its online functions is frankly embarrassing and the lack of a large public beta was remarkably short-sighted.

Track design is excellent; Gorgeous visuals; Brief moments of brilliance

Server issues are killing it; Penalty system is broken; Project Cars isn't out until 2015

DriveClub VR

The PS4 version of DriveClub had a few stalls getting out of the gate - it was delayed, it launched as basically a skeleton of a game, it had bugs. Over time though, it's evolved into one of the better racing titles on the market, even though Sony shuttered developer Evolution Studios in March.

Driveclub review – a picturesque race towards truly social gaming

O ften in video games it's the little details that reassure you. Driveclub, Sony's "socially connected" driving game, was originally scheduled to accompany the PS4 launch last year, but was subsequently delayed for 10 months – a move that had many industry watchers worried.
