Dreamcast Sampler would have been a more apt title. After putting together the wonderful Ultimate Genesis Collection and the stellar Sega Ages line, it's hard not to feel like Sega dropped the ball with Dreamcast Collection.

When word came out about a possible "Dreamcast Collection" retail disc from SEGA, my excitement level went through the roof. Finally, we would get to play classic games like Jet Set Radio, Power Stone, Chu Chu Rocket...heck, even Shenmue and Seaman were part of my wet-dream list.

Four classics from yesteryear indiscriminately slapped on one disc seems like no way to treat games that helped define an entire console. But despite the Dreamcast Collection's helter-skelter, bare-bones presentation, its contents - Sonic Adventure, Sega Bass Fishing, Crazy Taxi, and Space Channel...

- Minimal upgrades or additions for 360; controls can be sluggish, just like in the old days, - Overall presentation lacks flair; games boot you out to dashboard when you exit each one, ? Oh, Pudding.

The Dreamcast Collection is difficult to recommended to anyone that isn't a Dreamcast fan; some gamers might not find much enjoyment in the dated titles included, despite their accessibility and fun factor. This is undoubtedly a collection for Dreamcast fans.
