Doom (2016) is an attempt at translation. It's been demonstrated before that taking the original 1993 release of Doom and repurposing it for a modern audience is hard. Doom released at the tail end of an era of pixelated abstraction in games, a time when your brain had to do a lot more heavy lifting...

Campaign worth playing to full completion and multiplayer better than most 1st person shooters of today's world.

The game is worth finding all the collectibles and earning all achievements because they actually benefit the player by helping unlock awesome stuff. Multiplayer is awesome as well because its simple and contains one of the best modes, Freeze Tag!

Doom (2016) Single Player Campaign PS4 Review

Because of its success as an FPS, Doom was one of the early pioneers of the genre. It does make one wonder what the gaming world would be like if Doom hadn't come along, but whatever the case, we should be thankful for id's FPS for paving the way for the likes of GoldenEye and the Halo series, both...

Game Review: DOOM

Bethesda certainly does not rush when it comes to releasing the next in-line for the long running and one of the most iconic series in the history of gaming with Doom , in fact it's safe to make that statement for just about any game from Bethesda and that's testament to the quality of games...

High octane action; Looks fantastic and runs incredibly smooth considering pace; Brilliant enemy and weapon design; Surprising amount of depth to levelling up; Plenty of awesome secrets to discover; The audio is fantastic; especially with a headset; Everything from singleplayer & multiplayer feels...

Loading times take a little longer then hoped; Missions can get a little repetitive later on

DOOM Review – Damn, It Feels Good to Unload a BFG Again

When DOOM was shown at E3 2015, my jaw hit the floor and I could hardly wait for it to release. While the multiplayer betas had me a little scared, I knew that if the campaign could stay rock-solid, DOOM would be golden.

Weapon wheel feels great; Never a dull moment; Lots of secrets and extra content

Lengthy load times

Doom review

Despite a troubled development, Doom is a confident, cracking throwback that pays loving tribute to its much-vaunted forefathers while bringing the noise via cutting edge tech. In a world awash with sci-fi hitscan shooters, it's a breath of fiery air that will delight as it melts faces.

Pace and Glory Kill system keep each major encounter intense, and make a refreshing change from most other modern shooters; Features a grisly range of enemy types and a varied arsenal that's fun to mow them down with; Great level design leads to exhilarating, chaotic battles.

Multiplayer is perfectly serviceable; but can't match the single-player experience in terms of standing out from the pack

Doom (2016) Review

Unlike past DOOM releases from Bethesda, this DOOM (2016) reboot seemed to release without much fanfare, and even with some doubts with the multiplayer beta . Even more surprising was that review codes weren't sent out until the game's official release to the gaming public.

Stunning iD Tech visuals never fail to impress; Easily the best FPS single-player campaign on current-gen hardware; Buttery-smooth chaotic combat; SnapMap needs a huge marketing boost all its own

Doom PS4 Review

A confident resurgence of one of the FPS genre's pioneering efforts; DOOM not only manages to boast perhaps the finest single-player campaign in the genre but also a blissfully entertaining multiplayer suite and map editor to boot.

Doom is an amazing triumph. With it's wreckless and loose multiplayer and it's classically framed single player campaign it's hard to find something not to like.
