This Doom has managed to accomplish what Doom 3 couldn't. Getting the fast-paced brutal feeling of the original DOOM into new gen graphics. A must play.

Despite a troubled development, Doom is a confident, cracking throwback that pays loving tribute to its much-vaunted forefathers while bringing the noise via cutting edge tech. In a world awash with sci-fi hitscan shooters, it's a breath of fiery air that will delight as it melts faces.
Pace and Glory Kill system keep each major encounter intense, and make a refreshing change from most other modern shooters; Features a grisly range of enemy types and a varied arsenal that's fun to mow them down with; Great level design leads to exhilarating, chaotic battles.
Multiplayer is perfectly serviceable; but can't match the single-player experience in terms of standing out from the pack
If you liked the original doom at all, you will love this game. It's been criticized for having a mediocre storyline but in my opinion it doesn't need anymore depth. It's a simple straight story and the meat and potatoes is the combat which is fast and full of gore. And most of all it's fun!
The creatures and the environments are repetitive. But it was cheap and it fills a gap if you are tired with some of the better made 1st person shooters out there
