Doom

The DOOM games of the 1990s didn't mess around when it came to introducing the game. There was no lengthy cut scene, no NPC drawling on and on about a backstory, and no brow-beating tutorial that took you away from the ensuing action.

Fast-paced yet incredibly smooth first-person shooter gameplay; challenging difficulties even at the lowest setting; and it captures that old-school familiarity of the original DOOM games blissfully well

SnapMap and multiplayer both need some polishing before they are suitable for constant mass consumption and some of the platforming elements seem a bit overkill for this type of game

Doom (2016) Review

Unlike past DOOM releases from Bethesda, this DOOM (2016) reboot seemed to release without much fanfare, and even with some doubts with the multiplayer beta . Even more surprising was that review codes weren't sent out until the game's official release to the gaming public.

Stunning iD Tech visuals never fail to impress; Easily the best FPS single-player campaign on current-gen hardware; Buttery-smooth chaotic combat; SnapMap needs a huge marketing boost all its own

Bringing back good memories

So far very enjoyable. Some good ‘jumpy’ moments. Game play smooth, graphics and audio quality as expected. Key ring and shirt (although no sizing options) were a great bonus.

Campaign worth playing to full completion and multiplayer better than most 1st person shooters of today's world.

The game is worth finding all the collectibles and earning all achievements because they actually benefit the player by helping unlock awesome stuff. Multiplayer is awesome as well because its simple and contains one of the best modes, Freeze Tag!

Doom Review

Beautiful F**king Game.

Amazing combat; Perfect controls; Story doesn't get in the way of the killing

Loading times are long; which can grate on higher difficulty levels; Some texture pop-in

Doom (2016) is an attempt at translation. It's been demonstrated before that taking the original 1993 release of Doom and repurposing it for a modern audience is hard. Doom released at the tail end of an era of pixelated abstraction in games, a time when your brain had to do a lot more heavy lifting...

Doom

Everyone knows Doom. Your aunt and uncle. Your religious friend. Your parents. Today's first-person phenomenons all owe Doom their gratitude, simply put: it's a gaming icon. Since then modern shooters have added layer upon layer of evolved mechanics, fleshing out the basics, but these basics still...

Doom PS4 Review

A confident resurgence of one of the FPS genre's pioneering efforts; DOOM not only manages to boast perhaps the finest single-player campaign in the genre but also a blissfully entertaining multiplayer suite and map editor to boot.

Doom is back on next-gen consoles and it's definitely a worthy reboot in every sense!

Doom is an amazing triumph. With it's wreckless and loose multiplayer and it's classically framed single player campaign it's hard to find something not to like.
