Doom Eternal review

An immensely well-designed and ferocious shooter that marries incredible production values with cathartic ultraviolence. Those raised on the measured pace of Call Of Duty may struggle, but if you’re in the market for searing, pam-sweat inducing carnage, then Doom Eternal will more than satisfy your bloodlust.

Amazing combat design; Great visuals; Surprisingly deep;

Platforming can be occasionally clunky;

Doom Eternal review

Doom Eternal reinvents its own wheel without abandoning its classic foundations. It has all the blood-pumping, gore-packed fun we expect from a Doom game, while adding a bunch of new RPG-like elements we didn't even know we needed. This is one not to be missed.

Fast-paced combat remains intact; Arenas feel natural but challenging; Cutscenes don’t interrupt momentum; Levels are varied and fun; New enemies, weapons and progression systems;

The ending feels a bit rushed

Rip & Tear

Makes doom 2016 like playing in quick sand. Everything, as you’d expect, is polished and well executed in this new Doom 2020 instalment. Controls & movement feel more fluid and tighter. Enemy AI even on easy is smart and reactive making subsequent play throughs on higher difficulty feel worth it. Graphics are high end worthy of the AAA title where Doom Eternal resides. Building on the story in a non linear way making it feel like a proper sequel. The arenas in which you fight the hordes of demons are open but can catch you out if you camp instead of run and gun. Worth your money and worth your time!!

Bigger, Better and More Thrilling

I played Doom 2016 2 and a half years ago and I instantly fell in love with it as the aesthetic, gameplay, combat and music were in a league of their own in terms of quality and engagement. So naturally I had high expectations for the sequel and boy did it deliver. Combat is thrilling and Adrenaline pumping, gameplay is smooth and engaging, environments are expansive and well designed and the music is absolutely fantastic. Console version or PC, this game I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of the doom franchise, FPS games or a fan of games in general. Granted it isn’t everyone’s overall taste but I would recommend at least playing this once in your life.

Amazing

An absolute blast from start to finish. Smooth, glorious and insanely satisfying and fun combat and wastes no time getting into the action. Story is a little lacking but is perfectly fine for a doom game where it doesn't really matter, and doesn't take away from the overall experience. For a 20 hour+ campaign and all the extra content as well as a pretty fun fast paced multiplayer you get a complete package that more than justifies the price tag. Blew all my expectations out of the water and couldn't recommend enough.

Strategic violence

Great game with alot of new elements. You really have to think about how to play the game, not just mindlessly mowing down demons this time.

Just as good as the first game

Bought and ordered just prior to release date. This game is just as good as the first. Adrenaline pumped, eerie and definitely hardcore as the first. I'm purposely taking my time do the game lasts longer.
