?Disney Infinity 3.0 is the third instalment in Disney's popular toys-to-life franchise. Whilst the first game focused on Disney properties, second focused largely on Marvel properties, Disney 3.0's branding relies heavily on the holy-grail of the entertainment industry, Star Wars.
Disney Infinity 3.0 is finally here and as the previous version injected the Marvel superhero franchise into this game, version 3.0 successfully brings the Star Wars universe into play. So what is Disney Infinity?
"Whatever you're into, Disney Infinity has something for you. "
I wasn't a fan of the previous Disney Infinity entries. At least not the gameplay portion. I own almost every Marvel figure from the 2.0 series simply because I enjoyed collecting them.
From the first time that I saw a video game where you could take a figurine and place it on an accessory to use them in a game, I was hooked. I haven't been shy about this fact over the years, as I am usually the staffer here you gets extremely excited whenever there is any news about Disney...
DI 3 is a leap forward for this series. Graphics, campaign, revamped Toy Box, Toy Box Takeover - Wow, is the word that comes to mind after a day with this phenomenal game. Myself, and my 6 and 11 year old were in awe of the improvements. They played the campaign for 3-4 hours, solidly impressed.
I didn't like Disney Infinity 2.0 . I saw flashes of opportunity get wasted away in repetitive design, mediocre gameplay and frustrating to understand mechanics in the Toy Box. It was not how I had hoped my beloved Marvel Superheroes would be introduced to the Disney Infinity world.
A surprisingly strong effort at turning around the disappointment of last year's game, with the best Star Wars action this side of Battlefront.
The bundled PlaySet is impressively varied and with a decent child-friendly combat system; Toy Box is more versatile than ever, with a much better tutorial
The action is still pretty simple by other standards and there remains a lack of imagination in the side quests; Extremely easy, with no proper puzzles; Still some minor frame rate issues
Much more playability compared to 1.0. Nice that the 1.0 character ranks are honoured and allows the use of the skill tree. Expansion packs allow the use of 1.0 characters to be fully utilised.
