For series fans, Disgaea 5 is an easy pick. It's full of the franchise's trademark anime wackiness, full of intricate and complicated mechanics, and full of… well, full of everything, to be honest. The rest, however, are advised to tread carefully, as this might not be the SRPG you have in mind.

Maximally convenient on almost every front; bright presentation is easy on the eyes; great to take on the go; has a seemingly endless amount of options and things to do
The story and humor are too juvenile for this reviewer; dub is flat; soundtrack never stands out; can be a little too complex at times
In the early days of the Nintendo Switch we're gradually seeing the broadening of its library to incorporate a wide range of genres. Disgaea 5 Complete is an early and substantial release for strategy / tactical gamers, and is also the most 'Disgaea' game many will have played.
One problem I had with the DLC came about because I blew through it at the very beginning of the campaign. In the story's beginning, Killia is a gruff, ruthless fighter focused entirely on vengeance. He has the smallest, begrudging regard for other people but he's reluctant to show it.
Front-loaded with more characters; Feels built for portable play; Bottomless gameplay buffet
Little other new content; Same obtuse mechanics; Disgaea games are inherently evil
There must be fans of out there somewhere, or the franchise wouldn't be five entries deep. I just can't for the life of me fathom why anyone would bother though. Sure, the combat is strategic, deep, and full of interesting mechanics, but you could say the same about or - both of which have far more...
Good strategy game, only that it feels a little messy when you activate free DLC that is part of the Complete edition, because it's a bit hard to see the difference between the storymode and the DLC story pack.
A fantastic game for any fan of the Disgaea series. The music is a little annoying but that is to be expected, this is the only downside to the game though. The gameplay is slick and the graphics have a nice style to them. This game will keep you busy for HOURS on end.
So much content its kind of ridiculous. Probably not for everyone, but for the right type of person, this is a masterpiece.
Disgaea 5 Complete is a faithful return to the PlayStation 4 original, letting you play Disgaea 5 on the go. A few days I ago, I said that I was tired of writing "It's great that I can play this anywhere now," in regards to Nintendo Switch titles. Because it's true.
