The Netherworld can be a rather daunting place. Demons run amok, humans are forced into hard labor to make up for their sins, and the government is sometimes run by child figureheads.
+ Deep RPG elements; + Funny dialog and great voice acting; + Fun game play; + Wonderful presentation; + Amazing tutorial
There could be too much to do in the game
Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten is the latest and greatest in the legendary Disgaea series of strategic RPGs. It's got all new, HD graphics, a brand new Netherworld and overlord to meet and even more opportunities to create the biggest and baddest party in Hades.
Interesting story; lots of opportunities to level grind; colorful characters; old and new character sprite styles; can place special buildings in the command center to influence characters; can visit an Evility shop to learn skills and abilities; can appoint characters to special positions to have...
A true online multiplayer mode would have been appreciated and pirate duels take a while and bit of effort to unlock
Nippon Ichi sent me a review copy of Disgaea 4 roughly a month ago and I've been playing it ever since. In my hands-on preview of the game, I admitted it was one of the best games I played this year. However on August 31st, my pre-order of the game arrived.

GI didn't mention a single negative thing in this game's review, so what stops it from getting a 10? I don't understand it
The tried and true battle system will return once again with a completely revamped graphic engine! The all-new story, characters, and exclusive features including user-generated content, will blow Disgaea series fans away.
i have played disgaea 3 and didn't like it too much so i played this game not expecting to much. but i'm happy to say the game is much better. the gameplay is great, the graphics are are awesome, as well as the story.
The Disgaea series has always fused wickedly humorous storylines featuring ostensibly evil heroes with deeply strategic and rewarding battles. The good and bad news about Disgaea 4 is that very little has changed.
Humorous tale filled with memorable characters; Involving tactical battles; Cute artistic style; Plenty of strategic considerations outside of battle
Very similar to earlier entries in the series; Insufficient tutorials
The gameplay hasn't really changed. The game is basically the same as Disgaea 3, However -- the story in D4 is 100% better. The voiceovers are 100x better than previous games (with exception of D2, d2 was ok) I'm a Disgaea fan so i decided to get it.
