"Digimon World: Next Order is messy on almost every conceivable level. " © 2017 Bandai Namco, B.B Studio. All rights reserved.

So many Digimon; home base management is pretty fun

Slippery combat; overly dense menus; opaque mechanics; tons of roadblocks and difficulty spikes; repetitive gameplay cycle; banal story; grating sound design

There's no shame in playing on easy

There's no shame in playing on easy Initially, players are given their choice of ten eggs that will hatch their first pair of baby Digimon. From there, Digimon ‘Digivolve' through six total stages, most of which offer multiple possible Digivolutions depending on how players have raised their...

Digimon World: Next Order

Cards on the table here – I know next to nothing about the Digimon franchise; much like when Pokemon first rose to prominence, I was just that little bit too old to get caught up in all the madness and, despite younger relatives owning the old Tamagotchi-like devices and watching the series on...

Nostalgic

Very nostalgic I actually bought it without looking up any videos and was very pleased because I remember spending hours and hours of digimon world on ps1 and playing game that has the same mechanics but just revamped was amazing. If you're a digimon fan I'd recommend this to you.

It looks like a throwback of the first Digimon World game. You get similar Digimons opening similar shops in your little town. But now you have two Digimons to take care of. It's a bit of a shame that the town is smaller now, and the gym has been reduced drastically.

If you enjoyed Digimon World 1, this is a must-have

While still remaining true to what Digimon World 1 was (a Digimon raising game), this game has vastly improved what was lacking in the first installment. There are many more Digimon now, and the game mechanics are explained much better by the tutorial this time, although you'll find you might need...

Finally

A decent Digimon game arrives. Unfortunately Digimon fell by the wayside due to the ever more popular Pokemon, I wasn't really a Digimon fan but as I grew I started to respect it more and more and now we actually have a decent game based around the Digimon universe.
