Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition (for PC)

Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition ($24.99) takes everything that made the original 2008 release an impressive action game and expands on it. The game includes the Legendary Dark Knight enemy horde mode that was added to the original PC port, as well as three new playable characters, improved visuals,...

Excellent and rewarding combat; New characters freshen the game; Highly optimized for PC

Story campaign is repetitive; Evasion is more complex than it should be; Unwieldy targeting system

Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition

No reason to cry. "Value" is a word tossed around a lot these days, especially when it comes to older games that have been remastered for the current generation of consoles. Such is the case with Capcom's Special Edition of the seven-year-old Devil May Cry 4 .

With 5 playable characters DMC4SE has the highest number of playable characters even surpassing Bayonetta2. Featuring technical combat that is only as deep and rewarding as your gaming might, and with extra features like turbo and Legendary Dark Knight mode that allows a horde of enemies for you to...

Fast action and many combos

The game came new and sealed as advertised. If you are a fan of Devil May Cry you know what to expect. This game was a blast to play through. A little lacking in content compared to other DMC games, but it is still a very fun game. I would have liked to play more as Dante though.

Same old Engine, same old thrills

Good to see that Capcom have yet to lose their touch with Devil May Cry; most likely one of the few games which have not once changed their initial ways, and yet everytime still manage to be an amazing game. Lets cut to the exclusive PC features first of all, and why you should be getting it for PC.

Fast; polished gameplay; great storyline and characters; lots of unlockables and customisation

Repetitive at times; can only play certain characters on certain levels

The best game of 2008

Devil May Cry 4 is the best game of 2008 if you liked the Devil May Cry games you will love this one. I just got this game and I could not stop playing it that should tell you how much fun it is to play. I give this game 5 stars out of 5 stars. I hope you have as much fun playing this game as I do.

Great Port, OK game

This is a good game overall. Newcomers who like stylish gunplay and demon slaying will enjoy it. Three stars because the gameplay is not as challenging or as engaging as DMC3. However, this is a MUCH better port than DMC3 At the current price, it's a good purchase for the visuals and fun.

Great port, smooth controls; Compatible with any generic Playstation-like gamepad; Fast paced action, very fancy maneuvers and quite a few gameplay mechanics improvements over DMC3; I had a lot of fun; Boss fights are a blast.

A short game; About half of the game is a repeat, but you play with a difference character; Story is not as epic or engaging as DMC3, I did not really care of any of the characters; The boss fights, while entertaining, were not as awe-inspiring as those in DMC3 (Beowulf, Revan, Cerberus, etc.).

A partnership in demon-slaying... "Devil May Cry"

Set in modern times in an enchanted tower named Temen-ni-gru, the story centers on the dysfunctional relationship between Dante and his brother Vergil. The events of the game take place just as Dante has opened up the Devil May Cry agency, and before Dante's demonic heritage has reached its full...

Devil May Cry 4 Review

Dante, lead demon slayer of the Devil May Cry series, is one hell of a bad ass. His sword slicing, gun-juggling, devil-transforming antics have made him a hero for millions of adrenaline junkies across the world.
