is an awesome upgrade that's addressed most of my biggest problems with Destiny over the past year. The rewarding loot system, fun enemies, new subclasses, and many quests have kept me busy long after the strong story missions ended.
Great story; Fun bosses and enemies; King's Fall; Rewarding loot
No matchmaking for raids
For newcomers to the series, 'Destiny: The Taken King' presents a much larger and more user-friendly 'Destiny' experience, and that's after a year of crazy highs, and RNG lows. For veterans, it feels as though we have to take two steps back before we can go forward, but the way is paved with fun...
Great to pick up, whether you own Destiny already or not. If you don't already own Destiny, I HIGHLY recommend this version. You get the full game and all of its expansions at a reduced price, and Destiny is a very enjoyable game.
Let's jettison the preamble out the airlock early. You've either jumped into The Taken King's Dreadnaught already, or in your heart-of-hearts Bungie is dead to you, and this new expansion is all for naught. (Destiny is, after, all the most polarising product since sunglass lenses got invented.
My son wanted this game so we could play together (like we do Halo). He was very disappointed that there was no co-opt feature in this game. In fact, he hasn't even played it yet because it is only online multi-player. I think we are going to trade it in for one we can play together.
Destiny: The Taken King is still a very flawed game and far from the 2013 hype leading up to Destiny's original launch. While there is a decent amount of content it still falls short for its price point.
I had destiny at launch and sold it due to lack of content but reviews of taken king peaked my interest.... with the new taken king and the other older expansions it is now the game we wanted it to be with much more to do and as such less grind
Basically what destiny should have been a year ago. Now it's worth the 60 bucks with a patched drop rate and economy. It's a lot better with friends, but they made the solo aspect easier for you.
The Taken King is a good sequel to the original Destiny game. Can be frustrating in parts as difficult to master. Good multiplayer mode when played online.
