Dead Space 3 (Xbox 360)

Dead Space 3 once again puts you in the shoes of Isaac Clarke, who is called on by Captain Robert Norton and John Carver to help rescue Ellie, the woman he fell in love with in Dead Space 2.

Superb combat action, intense moments, and a killer crafting system; Co-op adds more side missions and cut scenes that are worth playing through

Poor storyline; Annoying fetch quests

Dead Space 3

Trying to think cautiously on this, but I'm still not 100% certain at which point Dead Space started focusing more emphasis on action and less on survival horror elements. Visceral Games' original Dead Space succeeded in blending both genres, which also came across in the second installment.

This game shines as a co-op shooter; some interesting boss encounters; there are a few brilliantly designed locations in this game; there's a lot of cool stuff to unlock; great cinematic ambience

The backtracking and elevator rides; as DS fans we can't deny that this is the weakest entry in the series; be it co-op or single-player it appears that any magic the series had is now lost in the murky and crowded waters of generic action games

Dead Space 3 PS3 Review

Much has changed since Isaac Clarke narrowly escaped after destroying his second marker in Dead Space 2 , earning him the title of ‘Marker Killer', and pretty much pinning a giant target on his head for the Unitologists everywhere.

Dead Space 3

"During the introductory hours, Dead Space 3 feels like a natural extension of the series." "Where solo players would struggle with how best to tackle large waves of creatures, two can effectively work together...

Finally getting answers regarding the origins of Markers and Necromorphs; The addition of side missions and weapon crafting; Co-op makes the non-stop action immensely more enjoyable

The dull; bland environments; Hordes of Necromorphs that leave you feeling frazzled; The lack of memorable set pieces

Dead Space 3

I'll just cut to the chase and immediately tell you I didn't play the first two Dead Space games. That's not much of an issue, however, as Dead Space 3 starts with a recap of what happened in the first two parts, as well as giving a short story on events that occured 200 years ago, to then bring us...

Xbox 360 Review - 'Dead Space 3'

Dead Space 3 brings Isaac Clarke and merciless soldier, John Carver, on a journey across space to discover the source of the Necromorph outbreak. The ice planet holds the key to ending the Necromorph plague forever, but first the team must overcome avalanches, ice-climbs, and the violent wilderness.

Dead Space 3 Review

Dead Space 3 epitomizes everything that's wrong with the videogame industry right now. It's also a pretty good game, which is what makes this disappointment more sour than say, the travesty that is Aliens: Colonial Marine s.

Craft a limitless array of destructive weaponry using the game's new customization mechanic; then share your creations with your friend as you take on the necromorphs in some of the best co-op on the market

Sigh; Game is almost completely devoid of genuine scares or terror; Difficulty scaling is wonky; Cover system and gun battle sequences are out of place and not suited to Dead Space's controls; Story feels like it's treading water, doesn't take any risks and has a bizarre ending.

Dead Space 3 review

It's hard to fault Dead Space 3 overall, because it offers so much for so many different types of gamer. The microtransactions present an interesting dilemma for the industry and consumers, but the game does a great job of balancing these out with superb gameplay pacing and difficulty settings that...

+ An all-round explosive; fun experience; + Great weapon crafting feature; + Difficulty settings make it more about survival; + Co-op is a great addition

- Story is unbalanced; boring; - Complicated crafting seems to force microtransactions; - Gets a little too repetitive near the end

Dead Space 3 is a disturbing ride from beginning to end (review)

Dead Space 3 is wrapping up a trilogy that started with a silent Isaac Clarke stranded on a spooky spaceship, took us through the torturous mental aftermath as he dealt with the Markers and his dead girlfriend, and then presents a final showdown on a mysterious planet.

The limb-chopping combat receives a facelift with the new workbenches, which you can use to craft your own weapons; You start by picking a compact frame (one-handed) or a heavy frame (two-handed) and choosing an upper tool and a lower tool; These tools dictate what kind of firepower you're using.

Dead Space 3 is a meaty experience; You travel to colonies, fly around abandoned spaceships, and search through 200-year-old facilities in the frozen tundra of Tau Volantis before the end.

Dead Space 3 PC Review

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I didn't really enjoy playing the first two Dead Space games. I feel that horror action games have fallen into a rut that combined cheap scares with limitations on controls or movement along with other bits of awkwardness that turn what could be a fun,...
