Test Dead Island

Dead Island Review

Dead Island is an addictive whirlwind of action, blood and gore, set on a gorgeous tropical landscape packed to the brim with content and, most importantly, zombies. And boy do those zombies hate your guts!

Review: Dead Island

The story is based in the beautiful Palms Resort in the fictional location of Banoi. It use to be all sun, sandy beaches and hot women in bikini's… well they are still hot if you like your girls dead with broken arms/legs with blood smothering them.

Dead Island Review

It boggles the mind as to how Techland has gone from developing Call of Juarez: The Cartel ( our review here ), contender for one of the worst games of the year thus far, to creating a polished and entertaining zombie-slaying romp in Dead Island.

From a distance, Banoi looks like a holidaymaker's paradise: a tropical island in a sparkling blue ocean, home to a luxury beach resort. Get closer, though, and you'll spot blood on the sand (and on the walls, and in the swimming pools). Zombies are shambling around by the beach bars.

Varied open-world setting; Strong cooperative play; Melee combat is grisly fun; Good zombie voice acting

Uneven visual quality; Weak characters; Poor human voice acting

Review: Dead Island

Nearly six million people around the globe have seen the trailer for Dead Island. There is no denying it is easily one of the most compelling, dramatic trailers for a video game ever produced.

Hundreds of weapons; Huge island to explore; You can drive vehicles; Plenty of sidequests

No communication between strangers during co-op; Fetch quests can get tedious; Annoying re-spawning issues; Gameplay a bit glitchy

Dead Island can't quite overcome its flaws and be the game it should be.

Great melee combat; interesting skill trees; novel concept

Abysmal story; tepid gunplay; repetitive quests; graphical glitches

Dead Island

Ever been on a truly horrific charter trip? Ayia Napa? Ibiza? Thailand? Well, it has nothing on the experience tourists had to endure on Banoi.

Enormous freedom; lush environments; packed with zombies; plenty of weapons; lots of missions

Poor close combat; lacking variation in mission; boring car physics

Dead Island Review

Dead Island, while rough around the edges, has a lot of content for those willing to put in the hard yards of side questing and zombie murdering, and is ultimately a solid open world adventure.
