Dead Island. Hearing those words gave me chills. My friend had shown me a link to it via facebook, and I was impressed with the first trailer. The following months left me anxious and excited, until it was finally released, and I was more than please.

Dead Island

With the best part of a million views on YouTube, the trailer for Dead Island has whipped zombie enthusiasts into a minor frenzy of expectation. That anticipation is piqued further by the game's intro, a thinly veiled tribute to The Prodigy's Smack My Bitch Up music video, albeit set on a tropical...

Bleak; sinister; dark

Bugged; primitive; shambolic

Dead Island review

The zombie survival game has evolved over the years, from epic to worse, to even worse, and then back to epic with Left 4 Dead which has brought a revival to the zombie genre. And with the zombie theme, it appears Dead Island intends to take that ‘So you think you can survive a Zombie Apocalypse?

The island is awesome; Slow motion decapitations are gratifying; Controls are set up nicely for quicker reaction times using trigger layouts

Fetch Quest Hell; Tries to be too many things at once, and fails at all of them; Respawning items take all the ‘survival' aspects away from the game

Dead Island (360) Review

With a few very minor exceptions, Dead Island combines all of the best parts of Borderlands and Elder Scrolls flawlessly. It is downright addictive, and hugely rewarding once you start getting the better weapons and skills.

PS3 Review - 'Dead Island'

Dead Island is a first-person shooter that combines elements of the survival-horror genre and adventure games. The game tells the story of a couple being tossed ashore onto the sandy beaches of a desolate, zombie-infested island.

Dead Island

is a game that almost instantly rose near the top of many gamers "most wanted" charts due to impressive visuals, strong gameplay and simply the idea of an open-world zombie slaughter gets people excited.

Dead Island

There was a point, not far into the game, where I returned to a cabin that harboured an injured survivor. He'd turned into a zombie, and as I refashioned his face into a concave husk, it made me think of what Dead Island could have been.

Dead Island Review

When I first sat down with Dead Island at this year's E3, one thing was certain: It was insanely fun. As the whimsical members of Deep Silver's PR folk guided me through the  game's island setting of Banoi, I knew that Dead Island wasn't quite shaping up to what many thought it would be, but that it...

Dead Island is all about zombie-fueled mayhem; It has a bizarrely fascinating way of taking hold of you – just make sure you bring three friends along for the ride

Where do I begin: Cruddy voice-acting, no story, bugs and glitches galore; And not to mention the fact that the car controls are just plain bad
