A year and a half after its initial release, Doom – the critically-acclaimed reboot of the beloved 90s title – has been ported over to the Nintendo Switch , replete with nearly everything: the single-player campaign, arcade mode, and the improved multiplayer are all here, with the exception of level...

Same fast; impressive gameplay; Impressive port

Same fast; impressive gameplay; Impressive port; 30fps or lower frame-rate; Lack of detail even at 720p; Joy-Cons not ideally suited; SnapMap missing

Review: Doom For Nintendo Switch

The second episode of Telltale's Batman: The Enemy Within introduced us to a good chunk of Batman's rogue's gallery such as Harley Quinn, Bane, and Mr. Freeze. Now that Episode 3 ‘The Fractured Mask' is here, Batman (or Bruce Wayne really) is in deep with these villains surprising more...

It's Doom on a handheld; Fun and frantic gameplay; Glory Kills are a blast; Multiplayer's reworked to be fun

Not a fan of the map

DOOM (Switch)

So if you know me at all, you'll know I loved Doom to pieces. I've played it on both PS4 and PC, finishing it at least 3 times, so Doom on Switch was not something I could pass up. It doesn't even make sense!

Ill good game. Never had such fun and so high pulls as when there's a big fight to awesome rock music while I'm struggling to saw the head of 30 demons. One thing only. You need a Pro controller to play the game. Just the joy con makes ONT in the thumb.

DOOM (Nintendo Switch) Review

With third parties scrambling to jump on the Nintendo Switch bandwagon after its fantastic first year on the market, there is bound to be concern when one of the first high profile ports has made it to shelves a mere eight months after the console's release.

Porting done right!

I am so glad I bought this game. I didn't pick up doom last year so I was new jumping into this game. I was skeptical too so I watched all of the early access reviews and heard all about the low res graphics and framerate issues, but... Now those reviews feel like pc gamer gripes.

Ah DOOM. It feels so long ago that I played this game and honestly, starting it up again had a lot of surprised emotions as I remembered just how good the game was. Add to the fact that here I was, playing DOOM on the Switch. It seemed like black magic. Turns out it was parlour tricks.

Playing DOOM on the loo; How did I forget how good this game is

Muddy textures; Frame rate drops; Fiddly aiming sensitivity

Doom on Nintendo Switch Review Round-Up

Bethesda Softworks and iD Software's first-person shooter game Doom , a 2016 reboot of the classic franchise, was a sleeper hit last year. So when the studios announced that players would be able to relive all the action-packed, demon-blasting insanity anytime, anywhere, people were thoroughly...

Doom on Switch review: As fantastic as you think

Not since 1997's Doom 64 has a Doom title seen the light of day on a Nintendo console. Now, in an era where Nintendo has lost much of its hardcore appeal in favour of a family-friendly appearance, such a partnership seems a bit bizarre.

30fps cap doesn't stop this from being fun; Doom on the go; Plenty of content

It's not as slick as other console releases; Multiplayer is fun but; mostly; pointless

Doom (Switch Edition) review

Toby Berger is raring for more Doom, so he's playing ID Software's 2016 hit on the go.

Still feels like Doom; The complete experience is here, minus SnapMap; Gameplay feels mostly smooth; Mick Gordon's soundtrack is, as always, phenomenal; Multiplayer is good fun

Graphical compromises can be a barrier for some; Frame dips can pull you out of the game's immersion; Joy-Cons are a bit of a struggle to operate in a shooter like this
