Doom Switch Review – Demonic Annihilation in the Palm of Your Hand

Back in March when the Switch was first released, Nintendo made it clear that it wanted the new console – unlike the failed Wii U – to be for "serious" gamers as well as casual ones . That meant full, authentic ports of the biggest games that played just like they did on the PS4 and Xbox One.

The full Doom experience in a handheld; Portable option of the Switch

Tiny unreadable text; Only 720p resolution

You might just finish this version

I'm playing this much more than I ever played the PC version, infact it goes very well as portable pickup/put down whenever type game. For once I can focus on the core gameplay instead of watching the pretty pixels being pushed from a GTX 1080 where I quickly get bored on the couch.

Review: Doom on Switch

Not since 1997's Doom 64 has a Doom title seen the light of day on a Nintendo console. Now, in an era where Nintendo has lost much of its hardcore appeal in favour of a family-friendly appearance, such a partnership seems a bit bizarre.

Doom (Nintendo Switch) review: The devil is in the details

Historically-speaking, third-party support has usually ended up being the deciding factor behind not just the dominant gaming consoles of each generation but also many of Nintendo's biggest successes stories.

Doom (Switch Edition) review

Toby Berger is raring for more Doom, so he's playing ID Software's 2016 hit on the go.

Still feels like Doom; The complete experience is here, minus SnapMap; Gameplay feels mostly smooth; Mick Gordon's soundtrack is, as always, phenomenal; Multiplayer is good fun

Graphical compromises can be a barrier for some; Frame dips can pull you out of the game's immersion; Joy-Cons are a bit of a struggle to operate in a shooter like this

Ah DOOM. It feels so long ago that I played this game and honestly, starting it up again had a lot of surprised emotions as I remembered just how good the game was. Add to the fact that here I was, playing DOOM on the Switch. It seemed like black magic. Turns out it was parlour tricks.

Playing DOOM on the loo; How did I forget how good this game is

Muddy textures; Frame rate drops; Fiddly aiming sensitivity

Doom for Switch Review

for Nintendo Switch is a straightforward port that runs well and looks pretty good. Which ultimately, is everything it needed to be. Even though it's a little fuzzy, smashing through a legion of demons with a fun set of weapons and upgrades feels great, and especially when you throw in arcade mode...

DOOM goes portable.

DOOM was possibly the best shooter released last year, an that's saying a lot considering FPS titles such as battlefield 1 & Titanfall 2 also released last year. The game played like butter, the graphics looked incredible & the old style fused with some new won critics an fans over alike.
