Crysis 3 PC Review

Was anyone really dying for a third game in the Crysis series? Sure, the first game had some next-level visuals and FPS combat in wide, open environments, but the second game narrowed that down and took Crysis down the path of the more traditional, linear games set along narrow paths that we usually...

Crysis 3 (Xbox360)

If there's one thing that the Crysis series of first-person shooters is known for, it's the graphics. While other games on PC and console have demonstrated tour de force visuals and passed the graphics crown amongst themselves, Crytek's shooters have always been the monarchs-in-waiting.

Crysis 3

There is a reason why our Crysis 3 review is a touch late: we weren't happy putting pen to paper before we had set eyes on the PC version of the game. It took a little longer, but we've finally had the game ticking along on our rig for a few days now.

Looks great; nanosuit gameplay still fun

Buggy and linear with a short campaign

Crysis 3 Review

You walk into a nightclub. It's all flashing lights, classy music and pretty people. As you make your way across the bar you make eye contact with this drop-dead gorgeous woman. You [...]

Crysis 3 Review

Sequels are supposed to be bigger, better and flashier than the origin game in a series. So when Crysis 2 ended up smaller, worse and less bombastic than the first, it made PC gamers activate their Maximum Rage ability across the ‘Net's forums.

This game is beautiful and the audio is top-notch. There's no doubts about that. Great story that has an ending that fans of the series, me included, will love. The gunplay is typical of a Crysis game, but has some changes and additions that are welcome.

Crysis 3 review – technical?demonstration

The excellent multiplayer deserves to be the focus here, rather than the repetitive, humourless, and largely artless first person shooting of the single-player campaign.

Superb graphics are amongst the best of the generation; The nanosuit is still an interesting idea and the bow is great; Multiplayer mode is hugely entertaining

Bland set pieces and unremarkable weapons and enemies; Uneven artificial intelligence, and unbalanced difficulty; Story and characters make zero impact

Crysis 3 Review

Crysis 3 is a bit of a combo of its two predecessors. The series hallmark, the beautiful visuals, are back and better than ever, at least in the single-player campaign. The nanosuit has also returned with "Prophet" inside, the team leader from the first game who assisted the protagonist, Nomad.

● Probably the best visuals possible on an Xbox 360 ● Interesting protagonist ● The nanosuit is as fun as ever; and now you get a bow

● Short campaign ● Multiplayer doesn't have the same visual charm as single-player ● The series mythology isn't explained particularly well to newcomers

Crysis 3 (Xbox 360) Review

A couple of years ago, I spent some time with Crysis 2 on the Xbox 360 and there is no doubt I certainly enjoyed my experiences with the game. It was a stunner in the visuals department and by and large a smooth shooter experience that featured a multiplayer component which far exceeded my...

Crysis 3

Hate story, like power-stealth, and love multiplayer? Get in.

Redeeming multiplayer; Looks fantastic; Stealthy bow-crawling is great; Harder levels much more rewarding

Story fails to engage; Short campaign; Potential realised slightly too late
