Perfect

I bought this card to replace my on board audio which was having major issues. Compared to my on board audio this card is just excellent. It has CMSS 3D which makes it so if your in a game or listening to music you hear different sounds from different directions so you can tell where your enemies...

Disappointed in sound recording ability

By LarryBoy I purchased this sound card primarily to record sound on my new HP desktop loaded with 64 bit Windows 7 professional. I was disappointed to find that the "what u hear" recording option that was available on my former windows XP system was not available with this card and OS combination.

Vista and Music dont' go

Do not buy this product if you want to make music. Creative have crippled the soundfont support on Vista. Works on XP, but not drivers on Vista.

Buyer beware ! . 3rd party purchase

Too good to be True First of all, I bough this from a 3rd party not Amazon or the manufacturer, I paid $21.00 Unit arrived in a plastic bag, not in factory packaging ,no warranty or setup paperwork, did have installation cd. for the THX not SBX as advertised.

What they did with this card was get a lower quality, and poorly supported chip and stick the X-Fi label on it. It's not a good card. Drivers are dodgy and completely non existent for Linux. The sound is OK, but not noticeably better than what you would get from an Audigy SE or something.

PCI-E

Deceptive name; bad drivers

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook

Creative's Xtreme Audio Notebook is a reworked version of the audio company's entry-level Xtreme Audio PCI card, only for notebooks, as its name suggests. The card is the first product from Creative to make use of the Express card slot form factor, so only works with newer notebooks; it won't fit...

Of all the sound cards on the market, one of the most popular ones is the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer . There are hundreds of user reviews on it and the vast majority of them are very positive.

This card has API support for both gaming and home theaters

The XtremeGamer only has 3.5mm I/O ports; which limits potential

Sound max

Works well but installation can give issues on Windows 7 x64. Works best with xp or Vidta. I currently own two of these devices. Works very well with Logitech 5.1 speaker system with extra cabling.

Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer review

Bargain? So would I buy an X-Fi Xtreme Gamer? You might be surprised to hear that I wouldn't. I've been thoroughly impressed with the sound quality from the card and the performance in games but this isn't the card for me. One of the drawbacks of the Xtreme Gamer card is a lack of connectivity.
