Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy (Nintendo Switch)

Be sure to check out our original review of . Continue for our Nintendo Switch verdict.

Varied; fun gameplay across all 3 titles; Performance is strong docked and handheld; Infectious charm injected in to the design of the game

At times controls feel awkward; First game really shows its age

Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy Switch review - Is Crash spindashing back into our hearts

The N-Sane trilogy is a complete remake of the classic Playstation platforming trifecta, and a good one at that. Attention has been paid to details that are essential to the familiarity of the title, but there's been plenty of refinement here too.

3D platformers have come a long way since their inception, but back in the mid-'90s, the genre was a wild west of ideas and applications. It's weird to think of something as straightforward as moving around in a 3D space being a technical challenge, but that was absolutely the case, as the flood of...

Infuriatingly nostalgic

This game had me pretty much dancing on the spot at times after falling off a moving platform for the 50th time. However, it was a pleasure to play and took me back to my younger days when I used to sit intently playing this in my more care-free years!

Perfect

I bought this for my son for Christmas. As it was one of my favourite games in the past I thought I would give it a go. Well I was very happy. Its even better than the original. Excellent

Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy Switch Review

Baz joins Crash on his most compact adventure yet.

Better loading times; Handheld mode eases the difficulty tension; HD Rumble

Platforming remains poorly designed

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for the Nintendo Switch is a compilation of Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. These games originally released on the original PlayStation between 1996 and 1998.

Inventive levels; Convenient save system; Solid controls

May be too difficult for some

Nine out of Ten. Yup, I've just broken the cardinal rule of review writing and given you my score right up front. I know it may seem a little crazy, but let me give you a few, what I think are, reasonable reasons for why I have let the ‘bandicoot' out of the bag right at the start.

Looks great; Plays just like your remember it; Crash 2 & 3 are platforming masterpieces; Animations are fantastic; Portable paradise

Difficulty Spikes; Crash 1 may have you throwing your controller across the room; Old-School platforming

The list of ports for the Nintendo Switch recently increased by not one title, but three in the form of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. While the arguments around ports on the Switch do have some salient points, given the age of the titles here, and the fact that they were never available on...
