I like the gameplay, but the story is weak and I dislike how they turn Erika (the transgender waitress) into a joke. Normally that would cause me to tell it to go to hell, but since the actual game play is rather addictive and fun I still gave it 3 stars.

If you dont like dialogue you wont like this game. Its quite a challenging puzzle game which will have you cursing for hours. Ive beat most of it and I must say it is very addicting.

Catherine is a unique release that you usually don't see released outside of Japan. It is an adult adventure, puzzle-platformer, survival horror game. It come from the great publisher/developer Atlus. The story of Catherine is probably the best I have ever seen in a video game.

There's two distinct aspects of Catherine: The puzzles and the story. When the protagonist, Vincent, is awake, we are presented with the story elements which draw us deeper into the game.

Catherine is a very special game, and also a very special combination of a story with many layers and gameplay that on one side seems completely detached, and on the other side is the perfect metaphore for it.

Catherine and direct variants, Katherine and Kathryn, were popular names for girls from 1911 to 2011, collectively second only to that powerhouse of tradition, Mary. In the 80s, they placed 9th when counted all together.

If you're a connoisseur of innovative video games, then Catherine should definitely be a part of your collection. While it's not for everyone and is perhaps too challenging for many, it's a high-quality game that begs for a try.

I really enjoyed this game. The story was interesting and the puzzles are challenging. The endings are also well worth multiple replays.
