Canon imageFormula P-208 Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner

As its name implies, the Canon imageFormula P-208 Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner has a strong family resemblance to the Editors' Choice Canon imageFormula P-215 Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner . As the lower price suggests, it's a step down in Canon's line.

Duplexes; Automatic document feeder; Scan utility in firmware allows scanning without software installation

No software included for converting scans to editable text

easy to use

Bought this for my medical office to easily scan ID's and Insurance cards to my patient charts and it has overall been great. The only problem I had was it had reset or something and my computer wasn't recognizing it was already installed. The problem was fixed and no issues since.

Canon ImageFORMULA P-208

Canon's ImageFORMULA P-208 is a neat, USB-powered, portable scanner, with optional wireless connection. Strangely, no OCR software, though.

Well-designed support software; Automated and one-touch scans; Plastic card scan

Fiddly paper guides; No OCR software supplied; Can only scan to graphics files

Canon imageFormula P-208 review

The Canon imageFormula P-208 personal document scanner has a strong family resemblance to the Canon imageFormula P-215. The P-208 is a step down in Canon's product line, and as you'd expect, it's priced £70 cheaper than the P-215.

Speedy scanning; Automatic document feeder; Can scan without software installation; Duplexes

Can't scan to editable text format

Truly portable scanners aren't plentiful in number. Even the Fujitsu ScanSnap models tend to be rather chunky, while the true lightweight models are often hampered by below-par specifications lists. See: Group test: what's the best scanner?

Canon ImageFormula P-208 review

The ImageFormula P-208 is a highly portable, USB-powered device designed for mobile workers who need to capture or archive documents. Though not the smallest example of the type it's certainly compact enough to slip into larger laptop bags.

P-208: good for limited use and portable, but steer clear if you need to scan large volumes of docs

Canon's P-208 scanner is USB-powered, good for limited home use and also portable as it's quite lightweight and compact. Single-side and duplex scanning in colour are offered via a rather flimsy document feeder with small fold-out arms, and although scanning is quite slow it's acceptable for the...

When I was buying a scanner I was looking for something different something that was portable and something that was different to the bog standard. This gave me the ability to do things on the move and although having a scanner of my own at home I thought that this would be the perfect addition to...

Small space, great function

This little might mite is great. We do a fair amount of scanning, but not a high volume, and the two-sided scanning function is great. I just bought another for the other office. The packaging from Costco was poor, it was not sealed, so I need to make sure that the thing wasn't damaged or altered in...

small footprint

not for large volume scanning
